Power out at the ranch …again. All horses and people are safe, heavy rains and high winds continue.

The wind and rain are heavy and intense this morning. All horses and people are OK, we are anticipating a break in the weather later this morning. We recorded 4.5 inches/ 12 cm of rain overnight, which brings us to approximately 25 inches/ 65 cm for the new year. If we can get horses outside safely and then back inside before possible thunderstorms, we will do so. Sunday looks marginally better, wind and rain return Monday, Tuesday looks sunny.

The new rain gauge indicates 6+ inches/15.5 cm of rain overnight. That is a needed and welcome drenching.

There is no electricity at the ranch this morning. It went out at about 8:30 last night, and at that time PG&E sent a message saying it would be back on by 1:15 AM. There have been no updates since then.
