💔 Calhoun is Looking for His 3rd Chance at Love 💔
🐾This is Calhoun.
He was just a tiny pup, barely 2 months old when he first arrived as a stray. He first left the shelter in December 2024, full of hope and wagging tails. He thought he'd found his forever. He thought he was finally safe.
…but in July 2025, Calhoun came back through the shelter doors...as a second time stray.
We tried to contact his adopter. We tried everything, but no one came for him.
Now, at just 10 months old, Calhoun is learning what heartbreak feels like. The shelter is loud, overwhelming, and scary. He gets overstimulated and frustrated, not because he’s a “bad dog,” but because he’s a confused puppy who never got the structure or love he needed. 🐕💔
💔 He didn't and doesn’t deserve this.
🐶💞 What Calhoun needs now is grace. He needs a family who will understand that he may not have learned all his manners yet. A home that will show him patience and safety. A second - no, third - chance to finally belong.
✨ He's playful and dog-friendly, while also overflowing with energy and potential. Calhoun isn’t broken, he’s just waiting for someone to believe in him.
Please open your hearts. Foster. Adopt. Share his story. Calhoun can’t do this alone, and he shouldn’t have to.

🏡 Meet Felicity – Desperately Seeking a Second Chance 🐾

✨ Felicity is a beautiful 2-year-old shepherd mix who came to the shelter in August as an owner surrender, one of six dogs left behind by the only family she ever knew. Since then, she’s been waiting…confused, heartbroken, and unsure why the people she loved haven’t come back.

The shelter has been overwhelming for Felicity. She doesn’t understand why she’s here, and her kennel can feel like a scary place. She can be barrier reactive in her kennel—but can you blame her? Once she’s outside and realizes she’s safe, the sweet, gentle soul beneath the fear begins to shine. When you earn her trust, she greets you with happy tail wags and soft, excited whines—the sweetest reward.

🐶 Felicity is looking for a foster or forever home where she can finally exhale. She just needs time, patience, and love to help her rediscover the joy of being part of a family. She’s treat-motivated, dog friendly, and would thrive in a calm home with another kind, confident dog to help show her the ropes and remind her that the world can be safe and happy again.

She may grumble when meeting new people—it’s her way of saying, “I’m not sure yet.” But offer her a treat, and she begins to relax. She just needs someone willing to give her space and time.

Felicity will do best in a home that understands she won’t open up overnight. She’s been through a lot, and new faces and places can be overwhelming. A patient, compassionate home that lets her move at her own pace will give her the chance to blossom. With consistency and care, she’ll repay you with unwavering loyalty and love.

💛 Felicity doesn’t need perfect—she just needs someone to believe in her. Could that someone be you?

⚠️ Critical Care Needed: Rescue Tag or Medical Foster needed for Chester! ⚠️

🐾 Sweet little Chester arrived as a stray, and while we are doing everything we can for him, his medical needs go beyond what the shelter can provide. Chester is facing serious health challenges that require long-term care and close monitoring. We are urgently seeking a rescue tag or an experienced medical foster to help give him the fighting chance he deserves.

🏥 The medical foster would need to bring Chester in for daily treatments with our veterinary staff for at least the next 5 - 10 days, while we work to secure a rescue organization.

🐶💛 What Chester is facing:
Severe pancreatitis with liver involvement, which is a painful and dangerous condition causing inflammation, jaundice, and digestive issues. He also needs nutritional support and a careful refeeding plan to help him gain weight and stabilize.

Despite it all, Chester remains incredibly sweet, gentle, and resilient. He just needs a calm place to heal, and a team willing to help him fight.

✨Additional Information: Chester, ID: A419143, 1 year old, male, Terrier mix, 5.6 lbs.

📩 If you can help, or know a rescue that can, please contact us ASAP. Chester’s time is limited without urgent intervention.

☘️Let’s get Charlie (A418903) the help he needs!☘️
Meet Charlie, a 12-year-old Labrador Retriever with a heart full of love and a spirit that refuses to give up. Life hasn't been easy for Charlie – adopted as a pup, surrendered after 7 years, re-adopted, and now found wandering the streets as a stray. Through it all, this sweet, neutered male (55 lbs., heartworm negative) continues to shine with a gentle, hopeful soul. Charlie is also dog-friendly and enjoys spending time with his canine companions, though he would benefit from learning that mounting behavior with female friends is not appropriate. He loves to play, especially with squeaky toys — and squeaky balls are his absolute favorite! His joyful energy and enthusiasm for play are a testament to the bright spirit still very much alive in him.

Despite his poor physical condition – underweight, with a large chest mass, multiple smaller growths, dental disease, and severe skin issues – Charlie greets each day with a wagging tail, love for people, friendly interactions with other dogs, and a passion for squeaky toys. He is currently receiving supportive care at the shelter, but his needs go far beyond what the shelter can provide. Charlie desperately needs diagnostics, specialized veterinary treatment, and a loving environment where he can heal and enjoy the comfort he so deeply deserves in his golden years.

Charlie has so much love left to give, and he deserves to spend the rest of his life safe, warm, and cherished. Let’s not let Charlie fade away unseen. Share, network, and help us find his lifeline.

🚨URGENT FINAL PLEA🚨 NEEDS POSITIVE OUTCOME BY END OF DAY 9/7/25 Adoption fees waived.
❤Royal, A404995, 1 year old, neutered male, 64 lbs.,HW-❤
On September 24th, Royal will reach a heartbreaking milestone-one full year in the shelter. That’s 338 days of watching other dogs come and go, seeing his kennel mates find homes while he’s left behind again and again. All Royal wants is the chance to celebrate that “anniversary” in a home, not behind bars.

Royal is a good dog caught in a tough situation. After nearly a year in a kennel, the stress is taking its toll. He can get mouthy when being taken out or during medical handling, but this is a direct result of kennel stress. Outside of those walls, he’s a completely different dog. In the play yard, he relaxes-calm, collected, walking nicely on leash. He’s dog-friendly, loves to play with his canine pals, and just needs a patient home where he can decompress, learn some manners, and finally experience the love and structure he’s been denied for so long. Royal doesn’t have more time. The shelter is breaking him down, and he would greatly benefit from the chance to decompress in a home-like environment.

❤Tigre, A411166, 2 years old, neutered male, 61.5 lbs., HW-❤
Tigre is a 2-year-old boy who once had a home, a family, and a future—but through no fault of his own, that future was taken away. He came to us in February 2025 as part of a seizure case, full of hope, love, and trust. He’s potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and always keeps his space clean. He’s done everything right, even when life wasn’t fair. But after months in the shelter, the stress is wearing him down. The walls are closing in, and Tigre is starting to spin in circles in his kennel, a heartbreaking sign of his struggle.

Outside the kennel, though, Tigre is a completely different dog. He thrives. He’s dog-friendly, has enjoyed playful doggie dates, and lights up the moment he gets outside. He loves every person he meets and quickly becomes a loyal shadow to those who show him kindness. His intelligent, spirited nature shines once he’s away from the chaos, and his joy for life comes rushing back. Tigre needs a home where he can decompress, be fed separately, and finally feel safe again. This sweet boy has so much love left to give-he just needs someone willing to open their heart and give him the chance he deserves.

❤Suki, A410450, 1 year old, spayed female, 52 lbs., HW+❤
Suki’s story is a tough one. This one-year-old came to us in February with her puppies, terrified but fiercely protective of them. She isn’t aggressive or a lost cause-she’s simply scared. The shelter is no place for a dog like Suki to truly recover, and behind her fearful eyes is a soul longing for peace, safety, and a second chance.

Since arriving, Suki has made slow but steady progress. At first, she wouldn’t let anyone touch her, refused treats, and kept her distance. Now, she’ll accept gentle pets, she tolerated a bath, and she even walked back from the play yard on a leash for the very first time. These may be small steps, but for Suki, they are extraordinary.

Suki needs a calm, patient home with a securely fenced yard and, ideally, confident, friendly dogs to show her the way. She is dog-friendly and finds comfort in canine companions, though she’s still cautious with people. She has never shown aggression-only fear and flight-and with time, consistency, and understanding, she has the potential to blossom into the dog she was always meant to be.
🚨Suki is RESCUE TAG ONLY. This means she must be pulled through an approved rescue group and cannot be adopted through the shelter.

❤Jagger, A412994, 4 years old, neutered male, 45.8 lbs., HW-❤
Jagger is a 4-year-old survivor who came to us in April 2025 as an injured stray, likely attacked by other dogs before arriving. We’ll never fully know the pain he’s been through. His physical wounds have healed, but the emotional ones are still there. Jagger is a dog who’s been hurt, and now he fiercely guards the little bit of peace he’s found. While he can spend time in the play yard with dogs that respect his space, he has been unable to successfully share a kennel with another dog. He must be the only dog in a home where he can finally feel safe. When other dogs push his limits, Jagger reacts. We don’t know exactly why, but it’s clear his past has left him feeling the need to protect himself.

With people, though, Jagger is a completely different dog. He enjoys people and just wants love, comfort, and safety. His trust may have been broken before, but he still holds onto hope that someone will come for him. That hope is fading here. The shelter is no place for a dog like Jagger-it’s loud, and overwhelming. Jagger doesn’t need perfection. He needs a calm, dog-free home with humans who will finally give him the love and security he’s been denied for too long.

❤Blance, A414626, 3 years old, spayed female, 45.6 lbs., HW+❤
Blance came to us as a stray, found wandering the streets - scared, confused, and unsure of the world—alongside another dog. From the start, it’s been clear that Blance is not meant to live behind kennel walls. The loud, chaotic shelter environment has taken its toll, especially in the small, confined space of her kennel.

She struggles to share a kennel because of reactivity in tight quarters, but outside she shows a very different side. In the play yard, Blance happily runs the fence line with other dogs and can coexist peacefully with calm, respectful companions. Once she feels safe and not overwhelmed, she even shows little sparks of wanting to engage and play. For now, Blance needs to be the only dog in the home so she can finally decompress. She would greatly benifit from a patient, understanding family who will give her the space to settle, rebuild her trust, and learn that life can be calm and kind. Through it all, Blance has remained gentle and loving with every person she meets—just a sweet dog trying her best to navigate a world that hasn’t always been fair to her.

❤️Big Mama A418185, 2 years old, female, Mastiff mix, 103 lbs.❤️

Big Mama needs a soft place to land—just 30 days to heal her body and heart. 💔 She arrived as a stray, alone and in pain, likely hit by a car and left with no one to help her but us. 🐾

At 103 lbs., Big Mama is a true gentle giant 🐶. She’s stable now—no more seizure-like episodes, eating well, and breathing steady—but her body still needs time. Her lungs need rest, and her heart… it’s still quietly hoping someone will show her what love feels like. 💞

We are looking for a foster, foster-to-adopt home, or rescue placement 🏡 to give Big Mama the healing time she needs before her spay surgery. She won’t ask for much—just a calm, safe space where she can finally exhale.

Big Mama is:
🐕 Dog-friendly
🛋️ Loves to co-exist peacefully with human and canine friends
🍖 Takes treats with the gentlest touch
💤 Low-energy and easy to be around

✨Big Mama isn’t looking for adventure, she’s looking for quiet, comfort, and kindness. So if you’ve ever wondered if you could make a difference, this is your moment.

❤️Give Big Mama 30 days, and you’ll help give her the rest of her life.

❤Help Franklin (A416866) Find His Safe Haven – Rescue Only❤

Franklin is a 10-month-old, 15 lb. terrier mix with the fluff of a miniature furball and a heart full of hope. He came to the shelter as a stray, found alone and having seizures. Since then, he’s been under veterinary care and is being treated for his condition. However he needs diagnostics beyond what the shelter can provide.

Due to his ongoing medical needs, Franklin is available to rescue groups only. We are seeking a rescue to take over his medical care, including possible consultation with a neurologist to better understand and manage his seizures.

Franklin is sweet, gentle, and gets along well with other dogs—happily playing the role of the respectful younger sibling. Lets find him the stable loving environment her needs to thrive.

Meet Thumper ❤️🐾
A415719, Male, 75 LBS, Heartworm Positive
Thumper is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who recently came into the shelter as a stray. This gentle boy has a large, ulcerated mass on the top of his head near the base of his right ear. While we’re doing our best to keep him comfortable with medication, the mass appears painful and needs to be surgically removed. Depending on the type of mass, Thumper may also require follow-up treatment.

He was microchipped, but sadly, his former owner is unable to reclaim him. Despite everything he’s going through, Thumper has remained incredibly sweet with people and is always happy to take a treat.

We are urgently seeking a rescue group to take over his care—someone who can provide the surgery and recovery support he deserves. Thumper’s future is uncertain, but with the right help, he has a chance to heal and thrive.

📩 If you’re with a rescue group that can help Thumper, please reach out.

❤Seven Tiny Fighters Need You!❤
A415768 - A415773
These Seven underage puppies, each weighing around 5 pounds and approximately 8 weeks old, recently made their way to the shelter thanks to a kind Good Samaritan who found them in rough shape. It’s clear they’ve had a difficult start to life—these little ones are battling coccidia, hookworms, roundworms, and scabies.

They are currently receiving treatment for all of these conditions, but what they really need now is a quiet, comfortable place to rest and heal. A foster or rescue could make all the difference by providing the TLC they’ve been missing.

If you can help give these puppies a fresh start, please reach out. They may be small, but their will to survive is strong—and with your support, their future can be bright.
