😅 When it rains, it pours…

We’ve been gearing up for something HUGE—30 cats scheduled to be fixed on Monday during our big spay/neuter day! 🐾 But of course, when we try to plan big, all the little emergencies start rolling in.

This week alone:
➡️ Three kittens had to go to the vet unexpectedly.
➡️ And today we got the heartbreaking call that one of our recently spayed/vaccinated mom cats was found and brought to the shelter with her back legs not working. 💔 She’ll need at least X-rays, and possibly more.

If you’d like to help, you can donate directly to Bellingham Vet toward her care—we would be so appreciative! 🙏

Right now, we need to find out if we can help her. Being an outdoor cat makes things more complicated: she isn’t 100% feral, but she’s also not friendly enough to be a typical house cat. So we need to assess:
🐾 If we fix her, will she be able to take care of herself outdoors?
🐾 If she needs ongoing care, would she be friendly enough to allow a person to help her?

We’re hoping for the very best outcome for her. 💕

✨ Ragdoll Rescue Update! ✨

Despite the loss of not being able to take in the Ragdoll mom and her two babies, we were able to step up for three of the five adult male Ragdolls from the same home. 💙

Finding foster homes for adults can be harder, but thanks to two amazing foster families, these boys are now safe, settled, and will be getting fixed during our big spay/neuter day on Monday!

They’re all around 1–1.5 years old. Once they’ve had time to decompress and recover from surgery, we’ll be sharing photos and more about their personalities so you can get to know them better. 🐾

Thank you to everyone who helps us make room for both kittens and adults—it takes a team to give them all a chance! 💕

🚨 Funding Alert! 🚨

We’ve been carrying a huge load this kitten season—our rescue hasn’t gone below 100 cats in care since it began. For every one kitten adopted, two more seem to arrive! Add in vet bills for all the little ailments along the way, and it’s been an expensive summer.

🐾 Your support with supplies has been amazing, and now we have a unique opportunity:
➡️ More than 30 cats can come in at once to get caught up with spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchips so they’ll be ready for adoption! They are literally adding an extra day JUST for Main Street Mutt Cats!!

The challenge? We just covered vetting for 20 last week and restocked on dewormer and flea meds. Between slow adoptions, supplies, and ongoing medical bills, we need extra help to cover this next big push.

💉 All of these cats will be:
✅ Fixed
✅ Vaccinated
✅ Microchipped

This effort will put us back on track so we can keep up with spay/neuter for all the cats in our care moving forward.

😿 Spay and neuter appointments have been especially hard to obtain this summer, so being able to secure this block of appointments is a huge opportunity we can’t miss!

Foster Homes Needed – Ragdoll Males

We recently shared about some Ragdoll males in need of foster care. After speaking with the owner, it sounds like someone may be coming tomorrow to see them—though it’s not yet clear whether they’ll be taking any, all or only some.

If any of the cats still need placement, we want to help find them safe foster homes. At this point we don’t have individual details on each cat, but we do know they are all males and in need of care.

If you’re interested in fostering one (or more) of these beautiful boys, please reach out—we may need you soon!

I really dislike drama, but I’ve been told I’m being bashed for not following through on a mom and two babies. For the record—I just spoke with the lady shortly before 1pm today, and we arranged for me to come tomorrow at 11am to pick them up. I already have too many things planned to go sooner.

I also just sent another message to the person involved because I thought we were all set. I can’t control it if people say one thing and then do another. People do this constantly.

And to Chelsea / Whatcom Feline Alliance—please stop creating drama. We are finishing up the two situations we agreed to help with. I talked to both people today and have times set up with them to get it done It’s really childish to drag this out publicly instead of just reaching out to me directly. I'd never trash another rescue without the facts.

Batman is doing amazing—he’s been great with cats and has only had one accident since Monday! He already knows his name and comes when called. Such a smart boy! 💕

🦇 Meet Batman! 🦇
This charming pup has the most infectious grin and does the silliest little pirouettes when he’s happy—which is pretty much all the time! Batman is a total sweetheart who adores both people and other dogs. Gentle, playful, and never pushy, he’s the perfect blend of goofy and good-natured.

Found as a stray, Batman hasn’t let his past dim his bright spirit. He’s all heart and tail wags, ready to bring endless joy to his forever family.

Batman is hoping to travel on Sept 18th and is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home to welcome him! 🏡💕

This sweet 3-year-old girl has so much love to give. She can be a little timid at first, but when she’s around other dogs her playful side really shines through!

🐾 Loves to run and play
🐾 Dog and cat friendly
🐾 Very active and would love an active family
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Working on house training and basic manners (she’s still learning not to counter surf or jump up)
