Burien Yung came to the rescue today!
He emptied his car, spent hours driving, and basically dedicated his day to get these dogs fixed. It really takes a lot to do this, a lot of time, a lot of wear on a car, a lot of prep work, a lot of cleaning (esp if they poop). So for this reason we try to always compensate if we are able. We would really like to send him $50-$100 to compensate for what he gave today. Who is in?!

Thanks to all of you we were able to raise $155!!! This amounts to a little more than a spay or two neuters! Our funds are very low right now so this makes a huge difference.
UPDATE - FUNDRAISER FILLED!!! Thank you Kerri, Heather, Teri, Jane, Sabrina, Pam and Lisa - you are all Lola's hero for covering her spay. She will never have another litter again!!!

Lola resides in Walker County and she took her No More Puppy pledge. Lola already had at least one litter so it was SUPER DUPER important to make sure she was done having pups.
The ladies at Walker County Animal Control are killing themselves to make sure they don’t have to euthanize any animals in their care and we want to help them by fixing as many Walker County owned dogs as we can.
BUT we need your help, we need donations to cover Lola’s spay.

These 4 babies were delivered to Hero Dog Rescue last week thanks to some wonderful humans. A disabled woman had an accidental litter and her kids jumped in to help rehome the puppies & seek spay/neuter because she cannot care for them. They’re even driving her remaining dogs to get fixed on 09/22 and the son drove these 4 two hours round trip to get them into a rescue.
It has a been one of those heart warming experiences for me being able to help such wonderful and helpful humans.💕
As with any dogs we help out who have puppies that get into a rescue we want to HELP THEM TOO! We cannot do what we do without rescue friends.

We love this girl! Nina was chained up outside with very little attention and the day she was removed was the day her life changed forever! We want her life to get even better by making it out of this shelter kennel she is living in. Nina is super active, loves other dogs and toys and runs nonstop. What it must feel like for her to be able to just RUN and not be chained to a tree. This girl is high energy but once we let her run it out, she is so very well behaved.

Today isn’t that different from other days. But today I told Amy that I had 3 no shows and she replied that she also had 3 no shows. These are pets we confirmed would be there multiple times. It’s really discouraging some days and today is one of those days. Today is one of the days when I ask myself why we even bother. I know why… but it’s hard. We have so many amazing humans we get to help and so many pets are better off because of us. But when no shows happen it just really is taxing. Our lives were put on hold to gather information, schedule, reserve spots. The vet offices are months behind and these 6 spots could’ve been filled by the many others in need.
Today is a hard day.
