To view animals available for adoption, visit the website 24Petconnect.com under "adopt a pet" ,enter zip code 20772, and select Prince Georges County Animal Services Division to view the available animals in the facility. Please visit us at 3750 Brown Station Road in Upper Marlboro, MD during our normal business hours (Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

). You do not need to be a resident of Prince George's county to adopt a pet from us! Animals are placed as household pets only. You are not permitted to adopt animals for guarding, hunting or mousers. In accordance with Prince George's County law, all female pets MUST be spayed and all male pets neutered. Animals adopted out will be spayed/neutered before going home. If a medical condition prohibits spay/neuter at the time of adoption, a contract will be signed to bring the pet back for spay/neuter surgery at a later date. The animal must be maintained in accordance with the licensing and other laws of the community in which it resides and be provided with routine and emergency veterinary care as required. It is the objective of the Animal Services Division to place pets from the Facility in the most suitable home available for both the pet and the family. We reserve the right not to place an animal, to refuse or deny any application, or to make recommendations to consider another selection.

This 2-year-old black female DSH craves affection—especially head scratches—but prefers you follow her lead. BB gives gentle head bumps and rubs against your legs to ask for love. She enjoys high-energy play sessions, especially chasing and leaping for a wand toy. She’s not a fan of belly rubs but will happily roll over to request head scratches or playtime!

This young and dainty 8-month-old brown and ginger tabby is a cuddle champion with an instant purr machine. She enjoys medium-energy play, especially with toys she can bat and manipulate. Gala loves rolling onto her back, inviting belly rubs, and showing off her silky soft fur. She would love to grow with you in 2026!

Gala has a medical condition affecting her front left paw and elbow, which her adopter would need to manage with their primary vet. She’s ready for a holiday miracle—could you be her special someone?

🚨 URGENT NEED FOR SHELTER VOLUNTEERS! 🚨

Prince George’s County Animal Services is over capacity, and we need YOUR help more than ever! 🐾

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our shelter—they walk and train dogs, socialize cats, help with feeding and cleaning, support adoptions at offsite events, and so much more. Without enough volunteers, our animals miss out on the enrichment, love, and exercise they desperately need while waiting for their forever homes.

👉 We have upcoming orientations:

📅Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 5 PM

💡 Teens (14–17 years old) can complete required school service hours (non-animal handling tasks).
💡 Adults (18+) can work hands-on with animals after orientation and a facility tour.

Our shelter remains at critical capacity, and we need your help! During our Home for the Pawlidays Adoption Promotion (12/23–12/31), all adoption fees are waived—let’s get these loving pets into their forever homes.

🐱 Winston (A565304) – Ready to be home for the Pawlidays!

Winston is a 6-year-old brown and white tuxedo tabby. This big boy loves affection, especially head rubs, and is comfortable being held—but he’s also a free spirit who lets you know when he’s had enough. He loves active play, leaping like a pogo stick to catch a wand toy! Winston is okay with other cats but prefers to relax in his own space.

This is Kitty A565887 a 5yr old spayed female diluted tortie looking to be home for the pawlidays!!

This gorgeous dilute tortie tuxedo lady is a total cuddlebug! She likes to be held and does world class belly rolls to get affection and show off her tuxedo tummy. She would do ok in a home with another cat.

We’re shining a spotlight on one of our adoptable cats who would love to be home for the holidays.

Jinx A565643 is a 4month old black and white male kitten, This sweet Oreo kitten is a little shy in new places but loves to play and is comfortable being held. He especially loves wand toys and is also a champion belly roller. With a little extra TLC to adjust to a new home he will be a loving and super fun purball!

This 1-year-old white and brown tabby is a gentle soul who finds comfort being near his person and gives the sweetest meow to call you over. He loves all the pets and will purr happily while snuggling in your lap. Camden is a little shy in new places and will need some TLC to adjust to new sounds, but his affectionate heart makes it all worth it.
