To view animals available for adoption, visit the website 24Petconnect.com under "adopt a pet" ,enter zip code 20772, and select Prince Georges County Animal Services Division to view the available animals in the facility. Please visit us at 3750 Brown Station Road in Upper Marlboro, MD during our normal business hours (Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

). You do not need to be a resident of Prince George's county to adopt a pet from us! Animals are placed as household pets only. You are not permitted to adopt animals for guarding, hunting or mousers. In accordance with Prince George's County law, all female pets MUST be spayed and all male pets neutered. Animals adopted out will be spayed/neutered before going home. If a medical condition prohibits spay/neuter at the time of adoption, a contract will be signed to bring the pet back for spay/neuter surgery at a later date. The animal must be maintained in accordance with the licensing and other laws of the community in which it resides and be provided with routine and emergency veterinary care as required. It is the objective of the Animal Services Division to place pets from the Facility in the most suitable home available for both the pet and the family. We reserve the right not to place an animal, to refuse or deny any application, or to make recommendations to consider another selection.

Meet Hogan (A564065) — an endearing 8-year-old gentleman who wasted no time showing off his good manners. He went potty outside within 20 feet of the shelter door!

He may start off excited on leash, but once he settles in, he’s all about exploring. According to Hogan, sniffing every single tree is absolutely mandatory. He approaches the world with a curious, thoughtful energy and the sweetest soft eyes.

Hogan is treat-motivated, knows how to sit (just give him a moment), and takes treats with the gentlest little nibble. In the play yard, toys weren’t really his thing, but give him an enrichment puzzle with a treat tucked inside and he’ll work at it with full concentration. His adorable white socks and fluffy shepherd-like tail add to his charm.

If you’re looking for a calm, observant walking buddy who enjoys simple pleasures—sniffing, snacks, and solving puzzles—Hogan may be your perfect match.

🚨 URGENT NEED FOR SHELTER VOLUNTEERS! 🚨

Prince George’s County Animal Services is over capacity, and we need YOUR help more than ever! 🐾

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our shelter—they walk and train dogs, socialize cats, help with feeding and cleaning, support adoptions at offsite events, and so much more. Without enough volunteers, our animals miss out on the enrichment, love, and exercise they desperately need while waiting for their forever homes.

👉 We have upcoming orientations:

📅Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10 AM

💡 Teens (14–17 years old) can complete required school service hours (non-animal handling tasks).
💡 Adults (18+) can work hands-on with animals after orientation and a facility tour.

This handsome pup loves spending time with his people—whether it’s going for walks, playing, or just soaking up some love and attention. We’ve recently welcomed multiple Cavalier Spaniels from an impound, and they are now ready for adoption! These sweet pups are looking for loving homes where they can feel safe and cherished.

Please note that these gentle souls will need a special adopter who can be patient and understanding. They require a lot of help with socialization and leash training, as none of them are accustomed to walking on a leash yet.

Hi community! We had 16 stray pets enter our facility yesterday (December 3rd). Can you help us find their owners?

If you believe the pets below belong to you, please come to the shelter ASAP! We are open Tuesday-Friday 11am-7pm and Saturday 10am-4pm. Sunday and Monday we are open from 12pm-4pm for return to owners and stray intakes only) Stray animals are placed on a 3- or 5-day hold. If no owner comes forward, they will become property of the shelter.

Please bring proof of ownership (photos, veterinary records, adoption contracts, etc.) and be prepared to pay reclaim fees. Pets must be spayed or neutered prior to leaving the facility.

Don’t see your pet?

1. Fill out a lost report at: 24Petconnect Animal Request Form
2. Spread the word! Alert your neighborhood and community of your missing pet. Post flyers, check local Facebook lost and found groups, and contact veterinary clinics.
3. Call shelters outside of Prince George’s County. Some animals are found along the County boundary lines and the finder may bring them to another shelter by accident.
