🐾 Meet Tyson (A521900) – a loyal heart searching for his person 🖤

This handsome 6-year-old neutered German Shepherd is full of curiosity and quiet strength. Shelter life just isn’t his style—Tyson seems a bit overwhelmed by all the commotion, quietly exploring with his nose to the ground, searching for something more. 💔

At first, he wasn’t too interested in treats or affection, but once outside, he came alive—sniffing every inch of his surroundings with purpose. Tyson is part of our Gentle & Dainty playgroup, where he’s vocal, tolerant, and enjoys chatting it up with his doggy pals. 🐶🗣️

Tyson would thrive in a home with someone familiar with the working breed—someone who understands his need for structure, purpose, and connection. He's Lyme positive, but with proper care, he’s ready to move forward and blossom in the right home. 🌱

If you're looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, Tyson may be the one you've been waiting for.

Meet Bubbles! A559654

At just 11 months old and 31 pounds, Bubbles is the sweetest little doll. This affectionate girl loves nothing more than treats and time with her person. Her tail never stops wagging when she’s with you.

Though she’s a bit camera shy indoors, her gentle nature always shines through. Bubbles walks nicely on leash, knows how to sit, and is polite with no jumping, just pure love. Like Blossom (A558657), likely her mom, and Dexter (A559656), probably her brother, Bubbles has a heart full of affection and a loving spirit.

Bubbles will thrive with a family ready to continue her training and help her grow into the wonderful companion she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet best friend to share your days with, Bubbles is your girl!

Bubbles is reserved for adopters who live outside of Prince George's County, Maryland.

Hi everyone! on 07/01/2025 We had 6 adoptions, 7 animals go to rescue and 5 animals returned to owner, in total we had 28 outcomes, and 43 intakes :( it seems like no matter what we do we can't catch a break, and we need our communities help more than ever! We have so many adoptable dogs like:

Carmello A560229

Carmello is a sweet and quiet dog. He is a little unsure when walking on a leash or in hallways, but he is trying his best. He is very food motivated, and once he knows you have treats, he is ready to stick by your side like Velcro. Carmello is looking for a calm and patient home where he can learn to trust people again. When he feels safe, he will come over for a tail wag and maybe even a kiss. He just needs time, love, and a few snacks to feel at home.

Hey, pet parents! With the hot weather upon us, it's essential to keep our furry friends safe and comfortable. Here are some great tips to help your pets beat the heat:
1. Provide Plenty of Fresh Water: Always have clean, cool water available for your pets to drink throughout the day.
2. Limit Exercise: Take walks during the cooler parts of the day, like early morning or late evening, to avoid overheating.

3. Watch for Signs of Overheating: Keep an eye out for excessive panting, drooling, or lethargy. If you notice these signs, cool your pet down gradually and seek veterinary assistance if necessary.
4. Use Pet-Safe Cooling Products: Consider pet cooling mats or vests to provide extra relief from the heat.
Your pets depend on you to keep them safe, so let’s ensure their summer is fun and refreshing! Please share these tips and keep your furry friends cool! ❤️🐶🐱

Calling all Foster Heroes!

We’re excited to announce our participation in Foster 50, a national program designed to increase pet fostering across the United States. The program brings together shelters, rescues and pet lovers, like you, to raise awareness for the power of fostering and how even one hour with a pet outside the shelter can change its life.

According to our friends at Maddie’s Fund, dogs who spend time in foster care — even one foster sleepover — are 14 times more likely to get adopted. As is the same with all animals, dogs and cats who were in foster care prior to adoption have a decreased risk of return. This encouraging data is part of the reason why we’d love to have you apply to be a foster pet parent today.
Summer is the perfect time to try out fostering a pet!

Foster 50 was designed by PEDIGREE Foundation, Maddie’s Fund, Adopt a Pet, Mutual Rescue, Petco Love, The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement and Outcomes for Pets Consulting.

Call us at (301) 780-7217 or visit pgcsprout.info/fosterpets to inquire. For more information on our foster program, please email [email protected].

I dare you to meet Dexter and not fall in love. Oh my!

Meet DexterA559656!

If you’ve ever dreamed of having a 35-pound lap dog, your dream is about to come true. Dexter is an 11-month-old cuddle pro whose favorite place in the world is on his people. He’s sweet, attentive, and oh-so-ready to be your shadow.

Dexter’s leash manners are lovely, he takes treats like a gentleman, and that speckled face? It’s impossible to resist. His waggly tail is just the cherry on top of this adorable dreamboat.

Because he’s still a youngster, Dexter will thrive with a family ready to keep guiding him as he blossoms into his best self. Speaking of blossoming, Dexter came in with Blossom, likely his mom, and Bubbles, likely his sister, who both share his affectionate heart. We’d love to see all of them find the cozy forever homes they deserve.

Come meet Dexter. Bring your lap. He’ll handle the rest.

Check out sweet Dexter here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLko8_mxEXs/?igsh=dGsyam5nZnVvMnRr

Dexter is reserved for adopters who live outside Prince George’s County, Maryland.

💫 Meet Meridian (A559557) – your new smedium-sized sidekick! 💫

This gentle girl comes with a constant tail wag and a heart full of love. Meridian knows how to sit, walks politely on leash, and would be thrilled to join you for some snack time (she could use a few extra treats to help fill out her figure!). 🍖💕

She’s sweet, calm, and ready to find her forever person. If you’re looking for a soft, affectionate pup who’s easy to walk and even easier to love, Meridian is your girl.

Come meet this wiggly bundle of joy—she’s ready to wag her way right into your heart! 🐾
