As the year comes to a close, the Upton Department of Elder and Social Services would like to pause and reflect on the kindness and generosity we have received throughout the year, and especially during the holiday season. This holiday season, we supported over 60 households, providing more than 400 gifts and 200 gift cards to over 115 Upton residents.
We would first like to thank St. Gabriel’s Church and UniBank MA Upton for hosting giving trees with wish lists to support Upton residents during the holidays. Through these giving trees, St. Gabriel’s Church provided gifts to nearly 45 Upton residents and their families, while UniBank Upton supported nearly 55 residents and their families. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with these organizations, whose efforts help bring peace and joy to many households during the holiday season.
We also could not have reached as many individuals without the continued support of the Upton Bloomer Girls and the Upton Mens Club. While these organizations work year-round to support residents in need, their contributions during the holidays were especially impactful, helping our department provide support to 95 households this season. The Upton community is fortunate to have such generous and thoughtful neighbors.
Additionally, we extend our sincere gratitude to Waters Corporation of Milford and the United Parish Early Learning Center of Upton for providing additional gifts and gift cards to support local families. We are also thankful to the Upton VFW Post 5594 and the Upton Girl Scout Troop for coordinating food drives and donating perishable food and essential non-food items to stock the Upton Community Center Food Pantry.
Lastly, we are deeply appreciative of the many community members who donated gift cards and made monetary contributions to the UCC Food Pantry, helping to relieve financial burdens during the holiday season. No amount of thanks feels sufficient, but please know that many homes were filled with warmth and gratitude because of your kindness.
We are surrounded by neighbors with big hearts and look forward to entering another year with the Upton community. Thank you to everyone who helped bring kindness and support to those in need this year. Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026.
