Sometimes they just need a little help! This girl started off with hard belly, which I was able to extract. Then the concern became whether she could heal, pass vowel movements herself, and eat on her own. It’s been three months and her belly is completely healed, she has normal bowel movements, and after 2 months of assist feeding she took her first meal all on her own! It’s such a good feeling to know that she’s capable of not only surviving, but thriving. 0.1 banana black pewter crypton double het desert ghost and pied. #ballpython #ballpythons #ballpythonsofinstagram #snakesofinstagram #ballpythonbreeding #bananaballpython #crypton #animals #nature #beautiful #desertghost #hardbelly
Came home from Tinley and herping to a new clutch! Very excited about these. Black pewter desert ghost het amur X leopard chocolate vanilla het desert ghost. Mom did a great job and this is her second year in a row laying for me, so as is my policy, she gets next year completely off from pairing! #ballpython #ballpythons #ballpythonsofinstagram #snakesofinstagram #ballpythonbreeder #snakebreeding #reptilesofinstagram #nature #animals #eggs
I found this awesome Stålorm (slow worm, or legless lizard) while hiking at Dalsnuten in Norway! This was a freaking awesome find. He was a little chilly but so awesome, and went on his way after a couple of minutes. This species (Anguis fragilis) is one of Norway’s few native reptiles! #slowworm #leglesslizard #lizardsofinstagram #anguisfragilis #reptilesofinstagram #herping #herpetology #europe #travel #nature #animals
I’m SO thrilled to say that my first African House Snake (Boaedon capensis) eggs are on the ground! 9 good eggs from this first time girl makes for my first AHS clutch ever, and the wait for these babies is going to kill me. This is a couple years in the making and I’m very excited to start getting ready for baby house snakes! #africanhousesnake #housesnake #housesnakesofinstagram #capehousesnake #brownhousesnake #housesnakemorphs #snakebreeder #boaedoncapensis #colubrid #elapid #babysnake #nature #animals #albino
1.0 GHI het pied ph lav albino X 0.1 mojave yellowbelly. Let’s talk about why I did such a “simple” pairing! GHI mojave combos were one of the first morph combos that I wanted to produce, and those combos helped me shape my collection. I’m working toward high-contrast gene combinations, and one of my long-term projects is making stunning black-and-gold snakes by expanding on the traditional GHI mojave combos and adding other genes to enhance them even more. I’m also very interested in GHI pieds. Is this a high dollar project? No, absolutely not. Is it something brand new? Again, no. But it’s something that made me love breeding in the first place and one of my own personal goals, and something I’m really excited to enhance by selective breeding for contrast & color.A large part of the hobby treats these animals like commodities and products, objects to be collected and traded and sold. In my experience, the more money-focused you are, the less you actually get out of keeping these amazing animals. I don’t breed based on what’s “marketable” or “hot”- I breed what I love so that first and foremost my passion stays, and I have ample space to keep hatchlings for as long as I need to. This pairing will hopefully get the ball rolling on some GHI mojave het pied combos and this is a project I plan to be working for MANY years to come. This first time mom did a fantastic job. Vegas (the mojave yellowbelly female) was the first girl I ever bought for breeding purposes as a baby, and now the first one who has successfully grown up to produce for me. And at the end of the day, the eggs are just a bonus - I’m most thrilled that she’s healthy and well!#ballpython #ballpythonbreeding #ballpythonbreeder #ballpythonmorphs #royalpython #reptilekeeper #snakesofinstagram #nature #animals #beautiful
