Keep Your Pets Safe This Winter! ❄️

As temperatures drop, it's essential to keep our furry friends safe and cozy! Here are some quick tips to protect your pets during freezing weather:

🧥 Bundle Up: Short-haired pets may need a coat or sweater for walks. Protect their paws with booties or a paw balm to prevent cracking.

🏠 Bring Them Inside: If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them. Provide a warm, dry shelter indoors.

🚗 Check Your Car: Cats and small animals may seek warmth near car engines. Tap the hood before starting your vehicle.

💧 Fresh Water: Keep water bowls free of ice, and ensure they have access to fresh drinking water.

🌨️ Short Walks: Limit outdoor time and monitor for signs of frostbite or hypothermia, like shivering, lethargy, or pale skin.

🐾 Emergency Prep: Keep a pet-safe first aid kit and a plan for sudden winter weather.

Your pets rely on you to keep them safe! Let’s make sure this winter is safe and warm for all animals. Share this post to spread the word! 💕🐾

🐾 Meet Tony, our brave, sweet 8-year-old kitty! 🐱

Tony came to us because his owner noticed that he was urinating outside of the litterbox and had occasional blood in his urine. With this history in mind, we recommended testing his urine for a urinary tract infection and doing x-rays to look for stones in his bladder. He did not have a UTI and the x-rays did not show any stones. With this information we were not convinced since there are rare cases of bladder stones that are invisible on x-rays, known as radiolucent stones! So his owner took him to a specialist to perform an ultrasound and they found 2 new stones in his bladder causing the issue! 😿 Since stones in the bladder can be a life threatening condition, we got him on the schedule for surgery.

Thanks to his owner's attentiveness and our amazing team, we were able to perform a cystotomy (a surgery to remove the bladder stones) and removed both stones 🙌

We’re happy to report that Tony is now on the road to recovery and feeling much better! 🎉

Wishing Tony a speedy recovery! 💙

Meet Minnie, our newest patient! 🐾 This sassy little Boxer puppy is full of personality and energy. She’s got a big love for puppy treats (or really any treats!) 🍖, and her favorite toy is none other than her adorable Lambchop 🐑. Minnie is already bonding with her big sister, who’s also a Boxer, and they’re sure to be partners in crime for years to come.

We can’t wait to watch Minnie grow and keep her happy and healthy! 🐾💖

Meet Jersey, the adorable English Bulldog puppy! 🐾 She spends her days doing what she loves best: napping (in the coziest spots 💤), eating her favorite freeze-dried beef treats 🥩, and playing with her beloved cow toy 🐄. When she's not snuggled up for a snooze, you can find her soaking up belly rubs by the fire 🔥. Life is good when you're a pup like Jersey! 🐶✨

Holiday cheer should never come at the cost of your pet’s safety! Keep those beautiful glass and plastic ornaments out of reach of curious paws. 🎅✨

Pets love to explore, and if they knock down or chew on these decorations, it could lead to dangerous cuts, choking, or digestive issues. Keep your ornaments high and secure so your furry friends can enjoy the season safely.

Enjoying a live tree this holiday season? 🎄 Here’s a quick safety tip: clean up any fallen pine needles regularly. They can be sharp and, if ingested, may puncture your pet’s intestines—yikes! 😱

Also, keep an eye on your tree water. Make sure it’s free from fertilizers, and change it frequently to avoid a build-up of harmful bacteria that can cause vomiting and diarrhea. Your furry friends will thank you for a safe and healthy holiday! 🎄✨

🚫🍖 Holiday treats are for humans, not pets! Fatty, spicy foods, and bones may be tempting to share, but they can lead to serious health issues for your furry friends. 😟 These foods can cause severe intestinal upset, possibly resulting in an emergency visit to the clinic and even surgery.

Keep your pets safe this season by sticking to their regular diet and saying no to scraps. Your pet’s health is the best gift you can give! 🎁🐾

Is your home starting to look like Christmas Vacation with guests galore? We love the holiday hustle and bustle, but it can be a lot for our furry friends. 🐾 Make sure your pet has a cozy, safe zone they can retreat to when the noise and excitement get overwhelming.

And remember, guests, keep your things out of reach to avoid any unexpected chew sessions and resist those puppy eyes at the dinner table—no scraps, please! 🍗🙅‍♀️

Who doesn’t love cookies and sweets? 😍 But when it comes to your pets, these sugary delights can be dangerous! Chocolate and other common ingredients in treats are harmful to pets and can lead to serious health issues.

If your furry friend manages to sneak a taste, don’t wait—call poison control immediately. And check out this Chocolate Toxicity Calculator to see how serious it might be. But remember: it’s always best to call us or poison control right away, no matter the type or amount of chocolate.

Keep those holiday sweets out of reach and your pets safe and sound! 🐶🐱🍫

that although Lilies & Mistletoe bring beauty and festive vibes to your home this season, they actually toxic to pets! 😮 Poinsettias often get a bad rap for being poisonous, and while they do have some toxicity, other holiday plants can be much more dangerous for your furry friends.

Ingesting these plants can even cause kidney failure in cats. To keep your pets safe and your home merry, consider choosing artificial plants or opting for pet-friendly decorations. 🐾💚
