Alright everyone, although I have done a handful of private lessons, I have essentially been closed since July. I have not had group lessons until recently. And have only been doing 20% or less than my typical number of private lessons. I am now finally able to say that we are adding more group classes back onto the schedule every couple of weeks.
We have had massive problems with the software we use for customer management... particularly following updates. It does appear as though we are now functional and glitch free. However, BE AWARE OF THIS IF YOU HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CONTACT US! Pocketsuite has changed our business phone number 4/5 times, meaning that clients were sending messages and calling numbers no longer associated with us. The number is now back to our original number (217-394-5629) and is accurately posted online again.
We trained and hired a new assistant who began reaching out to everyone on our reschedule list. She had to handle a family emergency and due to her increased responsibilities while while also attending vet school, she is no longer with us. BE AWARE THAT POCKETSUITE DUMPED HER CONTENT. All of it. We are still re-contacting the clients she was in contact with. So if she reached out to you and you have been unable to reach us since, please email us at [email protected]. Some people she placed into rosters for classes appear to have been removed. Mary and I, along with our new assistant (who is doing quite well) are still actively working through things again to try and re-connect with those we lost contact with. We are frustrated also, but slowly everything is falling back into place.
We have slowly been reaching out to people to get their paid private lessons rescheduled, re-enrolling them into group classes or pro-rated credits towards any class/lesson type...including online access via discord to any of the classes content (recordings of classes, handouts, worksheets, exercise/class prep videos, etc...) Please note that on the liability waiver everyone completed and signed prior to entering lessons or classes it does say that there are no refunds and someone can be removed from a class if necessary. We have been giving everyone who was stopped mid class or pre-paid for a lesson, more compensation value wise with services than many of them originally paid for the service. It's a process to catch up and make sure that we are being fair with everyone. However, especially due to training a new assistant, then loosing her, hiring and training a second assistant and all the pocketsuite glitches...life has happened and it is taking us longer than anticipated to touch base with everyone.
We did also submit the 1st batch of refund requests to pocketsuite awhile back. Please not that when we did a trial run with this...it took 6-8 weeks from the date we submitted the request. If you have already emailed us, and your circumstances have changed to warrant a refund, then please do not keep emailing. Please be patient. We have thousands of clients to get back on track and rescheduled or replaced into group classes. Please be patient instead of creating a larger workload for us, as we are already working overtime to reopen. It is a significant amount of work, more than opening a brand new business to begin with.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE ADDED re-schedule options to our online booking. We still have to confirm your enrollment into a class, however this should help us streamline things. If you still need help finding a reschedule spot please email us. Please use this service if possible to decrease our workload and help us catch back up! This will allow you to enroll in upcoming classes or reschedule you weekday or weekend private lessons.

Although I have not given an official statement on the past 7 months, I want everyone to know that I have sincerely missed working with all of you. Cliff notes, I not only been in and out of the hospital, but I have endured a nightmare of a domestic situation. There has been an emergency order of protection and a 2yr order implemented. I chose to remain essentially closed not only for my safety but for the safety of my clients as well. I am glad to report that it is once again a safe and peaceful place here on the Pupcakes Training farm.
Removing my children and I to safety was no easy feat. My children were sent to live with family for their own safety and the realization that I had to remain behind to ensure their peace and safety was the hardest decision of my life. I was at least a clear decision, as I value their safety above all else. They will be finishing out the school year before returning home. I miss them terribly every day.
I still need to have surgery to reattach and straighten my septum and replace my tear ducts. Some of you remember that I had several procedures 3/4 years ago on my septum, nose and sinuses. An incident this past year unfortunately compromised these surgeries and now additional surgeries are required. Now that stability has returned, I plan to get work rolling and then schedule a date and recovery time. We should have no problem scheduling around this.
