We are a 6.5-acre educational farm where U of I students can learn about growing fresh food. We grow an array of vegetables and fruit using organic practices and provide a space for hands-on learning. Whether you are interested in agriculture, engineering, architecture, native plants, or art we would love to work with you. We have student employees, and are hiring periodically. If you would like to work here, send an email to [email protected]. We are typically hiring for work in April, during the summer, and at the beginning of fall semester. We generally accept volunteers during the week but volunteering is currently suspended for Covid-19
We generally have a farm stand every Thursday but we have gone to online orders accessible at thefarmstand.illinois.edu . Orders are to be made on Tuesdays for Thursday pick ups.
The majority of what we grow (90%) goes to the dining services here on campus. In 2017-2019, we provided over 50,000 lbs of produce per year to the dining halls to serve to the students! Please email us at [email protected] if you have any questions, want a tour, or to lend a hand!
