Wengerd Sport Horses

Wengerd Sport Horses Rachel has been riding horses since she could walk. Malt and Rachel also began a career in eventing together when Rachel was twelve years old.

She grew up at Knightwynds Welsh Cobs where she got to enjoy riding everyday as well as playing with the foals and learning how to handle everything from newborn foals to the breeding stallion. Rachel has achieved her C-2 and H-B pony club ratings with the help of her two welsh cobs, Crossroads Rose and Knightwynds Single Malt. The pair quickly fell in love with eventing and over the years have ma

de it to the training level with very limited training and funds. She is currently training with Lainey Asker, Francesca Nicoletti, and Noel Williams. Who have all helped Rachel tremendously these past few years. Rachel hopes to do her first one star in 2013. She also enjoys working with younger pony club members and anyone who wants to begin riding or move up the lower levels. She hopes to begin obtaining her ICP in the USEA. Rachel also enjoys breaking young or inexperienced horses to ride. As well as riding Rachel has grown to enjoy combined driving, and works as a navigator and groom. Her family has taught her a lot about driving horses and she has spent some time breaking a few driving horses and puts mileage on green driving horses.

‘Maverick’ is a fantastic young horse with a great temperament. As a weanling he scored in the 80s at dressage at Devon. Last summer he was reserve champion c**t and reserve champion young horse as a yearling at the DSHB Breed Show at Avalon.

He handles the show environments super well and remains relaxed every where he goes. He has 3 lovely gaits with lots of relaxation through the body and lots of ground cover. Pm for additional Information and video.

Knightwynds Chiron received his sash from National Dressage Pony Cup as the 3rd place 2024 c**t gelding! Very proud of the little guy for this big accomplishment as he only went to Dressage at Devon this year so he just had enough scores for the year end awards. National Dressage Pony Cup really goes all out with their year end awards!

Chiron is retained as a future stallion prospect and a third generation breeding for myself and my mother Ruth Laufer’s breeding program!

12 year old (2013) Registered Welsh Cob mare.
She is due to foal April 18, 2025, and will be ready to go to her new home once the foal is weaned.

Flyer is a solid mare with great bone and stands 14.1 1/2 hands tall. Nice solid feet. She rides and drives although would need a solid refresher in driving. She’s a big uphill mover. Easy keeper and easy to have in the barn. She did have an incident a few years ago leaving her blind in one eye but it does not affect her at all. We have had her since birth she’s competed at prelim level CDE, at ridden welsh shows and at local schooling dressage shows at training level. She trail rides out with other horses or alone.

She is only being offered for sale as she’s a half sister to my up and coming welsh cob stallion Knightwynds Chiron who was the 2024 Dressage at Devon Pony Grand Champion, and I need to add some outside broodmares to my breeding program.

This super sweet mare is still available! Scoop her up before her price increase at the end of the year!

Skittle Bomb is a 13 year old big bodied OTTB mare standing 16.1 hands. No prep needed! She has shown 2’ jumpers and starter level eventing! She will easily be ready to go beginner novice in the spring! She hacks out alone or in company on a loose rein. Same horse at shows as at home. Goes barefoot and good for vet and farrier.

V- Power (Viva Gold/ Fidertanz/ Show Star) out of Baretta Woods 121 (Bretton Woods/ Sandro Song/ Bolero)

V-power was Westphalian Champion Stallion with a 9 for rideability. At his stallion performance test in Denmark, he received a straight “very good” (9.0) for his rideability and canter ability. His trot and capacity were rated 8.5. With a total of 831.0 points, he ranked fourth in a very strong field.

Barretta Woods 121 is an impressive mare with a fantastic sweet disposition and loads of power and movement. This combination will surely produce a top level prospect!

Very proud of 5 year Oxygen MG, this was a very challenging week for sure at the USHJA Young Jumper Championship but he really got better each day. This was his first time competing at the 1.20 m with his first triple combination and some challenging courses. We learned a lot and had a fantastic experience. Next stop Princeton Young Jumpers Championship in two weeks! I am truly grateful to have the ride on this talented young horse owned by Kathy Hickerson.

Allie and I went and picked up our new addition to the farm today!
