Pen 4- female, 52lbs, 3yrs, a little nervous coming out of kennel but relaxed once she’s outside, very sweet and friendly, loves affection, 4/10 on a leash, some pulling, moderately strong, has some hops in her, dog tested well, love her smile.

Gorgeous Alert! 👀

My name is Lilly, I am about 18 months old and weigh approx 43 lbs.
I am a little shy at first, but I am very friendly once I get to know you.
I enjoy getting brushed and petted.
I am still learning how to walk on a leash, but I’m a smarty pants so I know I’ll get the hang of it soon!
I get along with other dogs.
I’m silly and playful once I get comfortable.
I sometimes think I’m a lap dog.

I have all my vaccines 💉 and am now spayed!
My adoption fee is $100.

I was saved from euthanasia and am ready to find my perfect forever family.

Pen 2- male, German shep, 2-3 yrs, 71lbs, very friendly!, super excited to come out, 6/10 on leash, some knowledge, but lots of pulling, relatively strong, dog tested well, didn’t really want to play but was able fine next to another intact male, vocal when he wants out, knows “sit”.

Pen 10- male, chi, 1-2 yrs, 17 lbs, cute little dude, all muscle 💪, but still easy to handle, 4/10 on leash, a little skittish on it, some pulling, he’s shy at first but friendly & playful once he gets to know you, dog tested well. Owner surrender due to health issues in the home. Name is Milo.

Pen 11- female, heeler, 3-4 months, 18.12lbs, very energetic!, very playful!, super friendly, 6/10 on leash, definitely knows what it is, pulling from excitement, good little pup.

Pen 12-female, Aussie, 3-4 yrs, 30 lbs, very vocal!, excited to come out of kennel, very friendly, a little timid, dog tested well, 7/10 on leash, light pulling, well mannered, needs a really good bath!

Pen 9-male, heeler, 1-2yrs, 52lbs, playful and curious, boy can he jump! (the heeler in him was coming out), very sweet boy, 5/10 on leash, exciting pulling, has some knowledge but definitely needs training, dog tested well, cute little wagging nub the whole time. Heartworm negative, sits for his dinner and “gives paw”. Held over from last week.

Pen 15- male, mixed breed, 1yr, 36lbs, timid at first, but very very sweet once outside, didn’t mind being carried out and back in, dog tested okay, a little nervous but no aggression, likes affection, 6/10 on leash, some knowledge but needs practice, light pulling. Very calm and laidback.

Pen 13- male, pit, 3-4 yrs, 59lbs, not dog friendly, yet very people friendly!, loves affection, very happy boy, big smile!, 7/10 on leash, definitely knows a leash, strong, beautiful doggy, likes scratches.

Pen 16- female, terrier, 1yr, 10.14lbs, a little timid, but super friendly/sweet, hides under bed, doesn’t mind being carried, shy at first, cutie!

Pen 18- female, 4-5 months, 17.4lbs

both very scared!, no fear biting, was able to carry them out and back in, no knowledge of leash, need extra work, but have ✨Potential✨

Pen 1-male, 4 months, 25lbs, very friendly/social, happy puppy. Sibling to pens 3 & 9.

Pen 2- female, 6-7 months, 39lbs, big pup!, very very friendly!, definitely wants attention!, dog tested okay, just nervous, 4/10 on leash, not terrible but needs some practice.

Pen 3-male, 4 months, 24lbs, wants attention and will let you know it!, very friendly!, happy pup. Sibling to pens 1 & 9.

Pen 4- male, 14-16 weeks, 22lbs, very timid coming out, very sweet baby, cried when we put him back in his kennel, wants attention!. Has rescue tag! Safe!

Pen 7- male, 46lbs, 5yrs, so so friendly, came in tail wagging, was happy to see us from the start, 7/10 on leash, seems to have some knowledge, some pulling but not terrible, dog tested well, despite what he’s going through/been through, he seems to be a very happy boy, needs some serious TLC.
*****Heartworm positive & most likely severe demodex. Held over from last week, is past his hold time. Medical sponsorship offer to reputable rescue.

Pen 8- male, 5yrs, 61lbs, handsome boy!, very friendly, 4/10 on leash, doesn’t pull but also doesn’t really listen, needs practice, dog tested well, after sniffing pen 14 didn’t really mind him. Quiet & laidback.

Pen 9-male, 21lbs, 14-16weeks, shy/timid, but very sweet!, good boy! Sibling to pens 1 & 3.

Pen 12- female, 12-14 weeks, 13lbs, so so sweet!, a little shy but very friendly, didn’t mind being carried in and out, cutest little thing!, has an overbite.

Pen 14- male, 1-2yrs, 52lbs, a little skittish coming out of his kennel, he was playful and curious, boy can he jump! Hi there! My name is Ranger! I’m about 1 and half years old. I weigh about 39lbs.
A few things that make me special are my cute smile 😊 and my big heart. I love people and I get along with other dogs.
I walk on a leash well, I still need some practice but I pretty much got it down.
I enjoy going for walks and have good manners.
I like to play but I’m also a chill guy.

This is the face of panleukopenia, and this boy did not survive.

What is panleukopenia?

Panleuk, for short, is feline parvovirus or feline distemper. It’s a highly contagious, and often fatal virus. Panleuk is a virus that attacks rapidly dividing cells in the bone marrow and intestines, causing a major drop in white blood cells that help fight infection. When this happens, the immune system is severely compromised, creating room for other infections and diseases. It also causes intestinal sloughing, preventing them from absorbing nutrients properly.

Symptoms can include lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea (often bloody), anorexia, dehydration, and sudden death. There is no direct treatment for panleuk, so intensive care is required to treat symptoms until the cat passes the virus naturally. Without treatment (and very often even with treatment), panleuk is fatal. All kitties are at risk, even the adults, If theyre not vaccinated. EVEN INDOOR ONLY CATS ARE AT RISK.

It’s transmittied through Infected bodily fluids, f***s, contaminated objects or environments; and it survives a long time in the environment. Pretty much anything, Including you, your clothes, and your shoes, can be a fomite. This Is why even Indoor cats are at risk of exposure.

Thankfully, panleuk is EASILY prevented by vaccinating your cats with a core combo vaccine abbreviated ‘FVRCP’. Adults who have never been vaccinated need an initial vaccine, a booster 3 weeks later, continued yearly to be considered fully protected. Kittens need FVRCP boosters every 3 weeks until they’re 15-16 weeks old, and then continue the vaccine yearly.

Briscoe Animal Resource Center offers the FVRCP vaccine totally FREE to ANYONE. Vaccines are offered Wednesdays and Fridays 1-3pm. Contact the office at (830)591-9229 for more info. There is no excuse to not vaccinate your cats!
