Let me tell you a story…
Many many years ago, animal control stumbles upon a kitty with extra toes and beautiful colors. Come euthanasia day, they simply couldn’t go through with it. So they adopted her and made her their office cat. As we started to work more closely with them, their office kitty slowly became BARCs official mascot (and office kitty). Many of you knew her as Whiskers. She was so loving and friendly it made her the perfect greeter. This was her home and she loved it.

After being sick on and off for the past few months, each time being worse than the last, we decided it was time to help her cross the rainbow bridge peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025. Now she can live life free and happy. We will miss her greatly. Rest in peace, our sweet girl. 🪽🐱

Pen 1- male, 3-4yrs, 58lbs, very chill, laid back, didn’t react much with dog testing, but didn’t react negatively, 8/10 on leash, follows and doesn’t pull much, seems like a good boy, but wasn’t very expressive.

Pen 10- female, 12.8lbs, 2-3 yrs, cutie pa tootie, timid but so so sweet!, loves affection, definitely a lap ✨princess✨, dog tested okay, mostly just nervous and did some “please leave me alone” growling, never snapped, I think she just didn’t want to share the lovies 😉, 0/10 on leash, basically carried her the whole time.

Pen 11- female, 33lbs, 1yr, very scared, no fear biting, 0/10 on leash, doesn’t know what it is, needs work but very sweet, never showed signs of aggression, dog tested okay, very nervous but never growled/snapped, unique eye color, needs lots of work but shows potential!

Pen 12- male, 9.10lbs, 5+yrs, this one is probably the most scared out of all the scared-ies, however for a chihuahua he did fairly well, dog tested okay, very nervous but seems to like pen 10, -1/10 on leash, had to carry him the whole time, very stiff while I was carrying him, was able to hold him in my lap for a while.

Pen 13- female, 10.2lbs, 12-14 weeks, crybaby!, a little nervous but friendly, wants attention!, so so fluffy 😍

Pen 14- female, 28lbs, 1yr, another very very scared girl, never tried to bite out of fear, 0/10 on leash, doesn’t know what it is, didn’t dog test great but mostly from fear, never acted out, just very scared, I was able to hold her in my lap, but she was stiff the whole time and flinching, again needs lot of work but there’s potential.

February is just around the corner, looking for a lovely date? 📆❤️

This sweet pup is Poppy! She’s about 5-6 months old and 32lbs. Poppy is the BIGGEST cuddle bug, she loves affection. She’s also very playful and friendly. She loves everyone, more so if you have treats to offer. Poppy gets along with other dogs. She is still learning how to walk on a leash, but she’s a smarty pants so she’ll get it! Poppy has a great personality and is waiting for her special someone 🐶🫶

10/10 cuteness!

CK C- male, 7-8weeks, 4.6lbs, super friendly, wants attention 24/7, playful!, if not playing he’s napping.

Pen 18-male, 70+lbs, 1-2yrs, super chill guy, 7/10 on leash, definitely knows what it is, dog tested well, not overly excited but friendly, beautiful big boy, who just needs a bath and some love.

Pen 11-female, 51lbs, 2-3yrs, very friendly, loves people, 7/10 on leash, definitely knows what it is but could use a little guidance, dog tested well, didn’t react much to pen 13 (male), was a bit more interactive with pen 18(male), but still didn’t give much attention to him, is more interested in people!

Pen 13-male, 40lbs, 9-12 months, vocal but so so sweet, loved cuddles/attention, 6/10 on leash, a little nervous but got better once he was out for a while, needs practice, dog tested great, gets excited when seeing new dogs, very friendly.

Pen 10- male, 3-4yrs old, 65+lbs, vocal guy, friendly and strong boy, dog tested well.

Pen 10- male, 3-4yrs old, 65+lbs, vocal guy, friendly and strong boy, dog tested well.

Pen 12- female, 1-2 yrs, 62lbs, very very friendly!, loves attention, very excited to be out of the kennel, she’s strong but doesn’t pull bad, 6/10 on leash, once she got some of the energy out she did pretty well, dog tested great, wants to play.

Pen 14- male, 22lbs, 5-6months, very sweet and playful, 0/10 on leash, just too excited to know what it is or what to do with it, lots of jumping around, silly personality, dog tested well.

Pen 16- female, 33lbs, 1-2 years, timid, but so so sweet, LOVED cuddles and kisses, 9/10 on leash, she did very well, followed behind me, she did army crawl from time to time but never pulled, dog tested great, little nervous, such a good girl. Pregnant

Pen 1- male, 2-3 yrs, 32lbs, very malnourished, very gentle, friendly, 7/10 on leash, didn’t mind it and followed our lead, just didn’t want to walk around very much, dog tested well, wasn’t very playful but didn’t mind the other dog.

Pen 2- female, 2-3yrs, 67lbs, very strong girly, super friendly, sat for me once and then said “nah I’m good”, a little timid at first but once she warmed up very sweet, 6/10 on leash, definitely knows what it is but pulls, dog tested well, lots of sniffing.

Pen 3- female, 1-2 yrs, 51lbs, a little shy at first, once she was outside she came out of her shell more, wants lots of hugs and pets, very friendly, 7/10 on leash, slight pulling but walks fairly well, cat tested well, dog tested well, didn’t interact much but never aggressive. Heartworm negative

Pen 4- male, 2-3 yrs, 65lbs, beautiful beautiful coloring, very friendly boy, was a little scared but once he got out of the kennel, he switched on, dog tested great, very playful!, he sits on command (w/ promise of treats), very good boy, 6/10 on leash, again definitely knows what it is but pulls.

Pen 7-female, 2-3 yrs, 62lbs, very timid, not as social as the other pen 2 and 4 (from same household), very sweet, dog tested well, she didn’t really mind the other dog, she was more focused on getting back inside, definitely needs little more work than the other two, but she’s a sweet girl, 5/10 on leash, lots of pulling and she’s strong.
