127 South Camp BARC also has pets available for adoption.

BARC provides low cost spay/neuter coupons to the community to help make altering pets more affordable. All pets have received a full health screen, vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

Pen 1- female, 10-12months, ≈40lbs, very sweet and friendly, 3/10 on leash, doesn’t really know how to walk with it, dog tested well, a little nervous but very playful, needs a playmate!, beautiful doggy!

Pen 2- male, 4-5 months, ≈20-25lbs, very very friendly, little bullet! 🏃‍♂️💨, silly personality, 2/10 on leash, needs training!, good pup, super cool eyes!!!👀

Pen 1: 1-2yrs, 38lbs, female, very scared, trembling, 0/10 on leash, lots of pulling to escape, did not mind me petting her, or carrying her, had to hold her for a good while before I could take her out, didn’t mind me hugging on her, sweet girl but absolutely terrified, dog tested okay, no growling or baring teeth, just sat still, not much of a reaction.
Medial notes: possible injury to right arm, doesn’t seem like it hurts her, maybe old injury.

Pen 4- 28lbs, female, 1yr, pretty much same as pen 1, very scared, had to hold her almost the whole time she was out, dog tested okay, showed more of a reaction than pen 1, wanted to sniff pen 8, still very nervous but never aggressive, 0/10 on leash, had to hold her or she’d try to free herself, didn’t mind being carried or hugged, again very very scared.

Pen 7- female. Unable to evaluate, snapping and scared.

Pen 8-female, 41.6lbs, 1yr, 10/10, so so sweet, just like her sister from last week, 6/10 on leash, she doesn’t fully understand it yet, but doesn’t pull and tries to walk with it, just doesn’t know how to yet, smart enough to learn!, dog tested great!, very submissive, friendly, loves giving her paw, beautiful coloring.

Outdoor pen- 3 pigs.

Meet our friend, Maya! She stopped by to see what we have planned for November, and she's excited to have so much live music right here in Downtown Uvalde!
Maya's been a resident at Briscoe Animal Resource Center since last November- this sweet girl needs a home! If you're looking for a sweet & active dog- Maya is your girl!

About Maya:
Maya is a beautiful girl of about 3 yrs and 65lbs. She already knows how to sit and give her paw. She walks well on a leash and loves to go on walks/runs.
Maya gets along with most dogs, all she wants to do is play! Slow introductions are always recommended! Maya does well around cats.
She enjoys playing with basically any toy you give her. She plays HALF fetch, it’s kinda like regular fetch except she runs in the opposite direction with the toy. Still very fun game, just a little more running on both ends. Wanna have a pool day? Maya will always say yes! She is so friendly and LOVES affection.
If you’re looking for an active bestie, she’s your girl!

Pen 7- female, 36lbs, 1-2yrs, VERY sweet and friendly, once she warms up to you she’s all loves. She can be a little shy at first but mostly from being nervous, dog tested great, 7/10 on leash, she’s been on leash before but needs a refresher and training, she has great potential!

Pen 2- male, 53lbs, 3-4yrs, very people friendly!, wiggle worm, dog tested well with females, NOT male dog friendly, wants to dominate, needs to be neutered, 6/10 on leash, he didn’t pull but doesn’t really know how to walk with it either, kept stopping to jump on me for hugs, very excited to be out of the kennel. Possible mange and HW positive.

Nothing gets past this girl!

At just 6 weeks, she’s already moved up the ladder from level 1 security to Chief Security Officer 👮
Despite weighing only 1 lb, no obstacle is too big for her. She flew through her security bootcamp with ease, with her best scores being in agility training!
