Since August of 2023, P4P has pulled 58 RESCUE ONLY dogs that were placed into forever homes. In addition, we have pulled other dogs (seniors and medical dogs) from PACC that we have placed in forever homes.

Every one of those dogs has had the support of P4P-be that, in home training and vet care. It is becoming more difficult for this one woman rescue to continue to save lives. Between 11/1 and 11/6 there have been 11 dogs placed on deadline. Because P4P tends to place a priority on Rescue Only dogs, we hope that Urgent, Emergency, and Census deadlines dogs would find placement thru the shelter.

Today, 2 dogs that should have been able to find placement thru the shelter are being euthanized. P4P asked for more time to find them outlets thru our rescue, but we were told that the census is still too high.

Our hearts are broken 💔 that Oswald and Gumby died today! This did not need to happen! We would have put all our efforts into finding them the correct homes if given the opportunity.

Today, I (along with a trainer) will meet Esau (who was deadlined at PACC) at HSSA, where I have agreed to help network him and others that may need rescue support.

We have moved mountains to save many dogs and we will continue to advocate for every dog at risk at the shelter. We ask that you pray for every dog who is seeking a safe and loving home!

We are grateful for every committed foster and adopter who has joined the P4P Family. And to those who network, and donate, tirelessly so that we can do this 🙏 Never forget that you make a difference!

💔💔 I’m so sorry Oswald and Gumby💔💔

Both dogs were available to foster/adopt thru PACC but did not find placement. 💔
Passion 4 Paws was working after hours and would have liked more time to network them thru our rescue but due to census, Oswald and Gumby will not get that chance. This breaks our hearts. 💔 These are good dogs who deserved a chance to leave the shelter alive.

RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE BY 5PM ON 11/04/24

Name: Popi
Animal ID: A848676
Age: 1 year 2 months
Weight: 15.2 lbs.

Popi, a charming one-year-old wire-haired terrier mix, is seeking a loving and patient home. This energetic pup arrived at the shelter as a stray on August 28, 2024, and despite a brief adoption, he returned due to biting behavior.

While Popi is friendly and loves attention, he can be stubborn and resistant to training. He may require some positive reinforcement training to learn basic commands and good manners. It's important to approach training sessions with patience and understanding, avoiding forceful methods that could escalate his anxiety.

Popi's ideal home would be with an experienced owner who can provide consistent training and guidance. A patient and gentle approach will be key to building trust and establishing a positive bond. While Popi enjoys playing with balls and engaging in active play, he may need to learn appropriate play behaviors and impulse control.

With the right training and a loving home, Popi has the potential to become a wonderful companion.

Adoption Process:

Interested parties:
- Must visit PACC before the 5:00 PM November 4th, 2024 deadline to meet with an adoption counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit.
- Are encouraged to reach out to a rescue group ASAP (even before coming to PACC), to start the rescue approval process. Have the rescue contact PACC at [email protected] if approved to pull.

Collaboration with Rescue Groups:
Rescue groups are encouraged to reach out to PACC early if they are able to pull this animal into their rescue (and what requirements they would have: interested adoptive party, alteration etc.)
If an IP has not already contacted a rescue, PACC will notify all partnered rescue groups of an interested party and request their assistance.

Rescue groups are encouraged to start their adoption process with any interested parties who have contacted them directly and email PACC at [email protected].

Please note that it is ultimately up to the rescue group's discretion to decide whether to proceed with adoption. Partnered Rescue Groups can pull any dogs on Rescue Only Deadline at any time without an interested party.

RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE BY 5 PM ON 11/04/24

Name: Simba
Animal ID: A849683
Age: 9 months
Weight: 58.2 lbs.

Simba, who was surrendered to the shelter on September 11, 2024, is really just a puppy at only nine months old. Since his arrival, he has exhibited signs of stress and anxiety within the shelter environment. Some dogs simply do poorly in the high stress, crowded shelter environment, and Simba is sadly one of those dogs. His stress has manifested as increased reactivity and difficulty in handling.

Simba's previous owners reported issues with another dog in the home; however, they also reported that he loves car rides, is affectionate, and is a playful boy who loves to be close to his people. He can be wary of men and showed signs of separation anxiety when left alone.

To help Simba thrive in a new home, his owner will need to be patient and understanding. Crate training will be essential to manage his separation anxiety, and a consistent routine and positive reinforcement training can help build his confidence and reduce his anxiety. Additionally, slow and gradual introductions to new people, especially men, can help him overcome his fear and develop positive associations. It’s crucial to remember that Simba truly is a puppy and with guidance and structure he has the potential to be a wonderful companion.

Simba has struggled with his interactions with other dogs in the shelter setting and has had difficulty socializing, so slow, managed introductions will be important. With the right approach and a committed owner, Simba can be a loving addition to a family.

Adoption Process:

Interested parties:
- Must visit PACC before the 5:00 PM, November 4, 2024, deadline to meet with an adoption counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you, to ensure that it’s a good fit.

Please note that it is ultimately up to the rescue group's discretion to decide whether to proceed with adoption. Partnered Rescue Groups can pull any dogs on Rescue Only Deadline at any time without an interested party.

RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE BY 5PM ON 11/04/24

Name: Charlie Boy*
Animal ID: A853083
Age: 1 year 5 months
Weight: 70 lbs.

Charlie Boy, a one-year-five-month-old mixed breed, has had a challenging past. Having spent his early life outdoors and experiencing limited socialization, he can be wary of new people and situations. His history of escaping and causing unintentional harm to neighboring animals highlights the need for a patient and understanding adopter.

Charlie can be nervous and may need time to adjust to new environments. He will benefit from a calm and consistent home where he can learn to trust and bond with his human companions. A secure, fenced yard is essential to prevent future escapes, and close supervision is necessary, especially during outdoor activities.

Charlie's ideal home would be with an experienced owner who can provide consistent training, patience, and a calm environment. A slow and gradual approach to socialization and handling will be key to his success. A home with another confident dog may help him learn appropriate social behaviors.

With the right guidance and support, Charlie can blossom into a loving and well-behaved companion.

Interested parties:

This is Samo. He had a date with death a couple times and was set to be euthanized this morning. We are so grateful for an amazing, committed foster who stepped up for him early this morning 🙏 Without her, Samos heart would not be beating.
Samo took his freedom ride and is now settling into his new home tonight-where he will have the support we offer our rescue dogs, training and vet visit. 💓
Samo-welcome to the P4P Family!

He is patiently waiting for his special person
to give him a forever home! Meet him at HSSA

🎃 Happy Halloween! 🎃 Meet Peter Parker, the clever, curious, and comical one-year-old Labrador Retriever who’s ready to bring joy to your life! Arriving at the shelter exactly one year ago, Peter has an inspiring story. Shortly after he arrived, the caring shelter team discovered he was deaf, and he’s been working hard ever since to master basic obedience and sign language commands. Crate trained and house trained, Peter Parker is a snoring, playful, attention-seeking goofball who loves to make people laugh. Now he’s looking for a loving home where he can be the star as the only pet—spoiled, adored, and loved to the fullest. Let this affectionate and playful pup bring his charm and joy into your world! 🐾
