This mother and daughter duo were rescued from a colony in New Windsor just about 5 years ago.. it was a horrible situation! There was a nice gentleman trying to do his best with barely enough money for him to feed himself, and about a dozen unfixed cats… and about 20 kittens! These two kitties were dumped off by another horrible human, the man actually witnessed it but he was too far away to get a plate and by the time he contacted us it was probably a couple years later… we got all the kittens into rescue and got every cat fixed and found homes for several. These two girls were in a foster home for over a year and the kind lady that had them said she would keep them but she was concerned about medical bills, so I told her we would handle the medical and she would be able to feed, shelter and love them. When they were spayed, both cats were found to have pellets or bb’s in their shoulder, I reported it and was told there was nothing the police could do about it, even though the guy that was feeding them knew who did it and filed a report previously… I will not put the name of the cop out there because it doesn’t matter at this point… New Windsor doesn’t do cats and I have been told this 800 times or more… I think it’s total ridiculous but my opinion obviously doesn’t matter… I’m getting off topic, anyway, the kitties were older when we brought them in and not in the best shape, especially the mom cat… we were thinking she was about 5 years old but she was probably older. Over the last year she had been declining and making it difficult to medicate her as she had a breathing issue and mouth problems. Her caregiver was growing more and more concerned with her quality of life so we decided to bring her in and give her a mild sedation, draw blood, cut her nails, and a really good looking over by our veterinarian. Unfortunately, her bloodwork showed she was diabetic and it was impossible to check her glucose on a regular basis and administer the insulin so we decided to let her go … with all her medical and the fact that she had almost reverted to being a feral kitty whenever she had to go the vet, the diabetes could not be managed… it was a tough decision and we are heartbroken, but we did not want her to suffer or be traumatized… It’s not the years in the life that matter, it’s the life in the years… She was in a home and loved for the last 5 years😻 The daughter is good and will be staying in the foster home for the rest of her life!

Meet Tom and Jerry! These handsome 3 year old Russian Blue mix brothers got a pretty raw deal … they are currently living in a kennel because their family decided they were disposable 😩 … They are very sweet boys, they are also neutered… they will be tested again and up to date on shots before they are adopted! Please let us know if anyone would like to adopt these lovely boys 😻😻

Smidge and Coali are our newest additions at petsmart! Smidge is an absolutely gorgeous, long hair kitty with a little white patch in her chest, very sweet… will need time to adjust to her new home, of course… and Coali is a little more timid … no aggression with these girls… they just need time and patience to warm up to their new family and surroundings 😻😻

This is also the time of year when well-meaning people “kitnap” kittens and take them to their local shelter where they may be euthanized immediately; did you know that kittens under 8 weeks old is one of the most at risk categories at shelters nationwide?

Please TNVR your neighborhood cats and help your friends, family, and loved ones get their pets sterilized.

Alley Cat Allies, Best Friends Animal Society, and other organizations have great resources regarding community cat care and what to do if you find a nest of kittens. Fixfinder.org can help you locate a low cost clinic in your area.

It's never too early for "The Talk."

🐾 Kittens can get pregnant at 4 months of age.

🐾 Cats can have 3 litters per year, of 4 to 6 kittens. That's at least 12-18 kittens born per cat in 1 year, and unfortunately, a lot of those kittens suffer or die (and if they survive, they also start having kittens in that same year.) This is why cat colonies get so out of control if those first free-roaming cats you see don't get fixed immediately!!!!

🐾 Spay/Neuter before 5 months because it's the right thing to do.

Lt. Dan and Bubba are a bonded brother pair… they are sweet boys, it might take a few days to warm up but they are doing great in their foster home now… abd Jenay is this adorable little calico, sweet but a little shy… they are looking for their furever homes😻😻😻

Sorry for the not so nice picture but this is reality… this poor guy was trapped by a concerned citizen in New Windsor… he was being fed and was trap Davy for several months but finally with trap training he was caught and we were able to help him… The Pets I love In Monroe, NY was able to get him in the day before Thanksgiving, tail amputation surgery, neuter, vaccinations and tested… unfortunately he is FIV+ … his surgery was over $700 … any donations are greatly appreciated 😻

These two babies were rescued from a driveway in the City of Newburgh… the first two pics are the day of rescue, the next two pics are two weeks later… they are doing much better but still not great, the little black baby will need to have one eye removed and we are not sure if he will be able to see out of the other one 😩 if you can donate to help with their care it would be greatly appreciated 😻
