Stirrup Ranch Quarter Horses

Stirrup Ranch Quarter Horses 100 plus year old working ranch. AQHA Heritage breeder. Fondation blood line plus color. all aspects

The Wetz Stirrup Ranch is located 16 miles east of Vale South Dakota along the Belle Fourche River. We have raised horses for ranch and arena work for over 40 years. They have enough bone to carry a person all day, with speed to catch a cow, and brains to know what to do when they are put in tight situations. We raise horses with foundation bloodlines and color. 2015 SD QH Producer of the Year.

Music Meow will be missed by so many. She raised 12 foals between 2012 to 2024. She had foals sold from California to North Carolina. She had 3 foals selected by AQHA Youth Development Program in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.. She has foals being used in all sorts of activities including one mare being used as a pickup man in rodeos, by the person that actually broke her as a 3 year old. Rest in peace!!

Just wanted to share some words for the new owner in IA (this coming 3 had had just light ground work done on him when he left the ranch one month ago.) Stirrup Oxbow aka Kash.

Kash is doing amazing!! He is by far my favorite c**t I’ve ever started and is lining up to be my favorite horse of all time. He’s so sweet, Not a mean bone in his body and so so smart! I’ve ridden him lots of miles outside, through wooded areas, snow as deep as his belly and he is amazing. Never fusses. He makes starting them so fun and enjoyable. Horses like him don’t come by every day. He’s very special. Thanks for raising such smart and amazing horses. You guys have such an awesome and respectable breeding program. I feel so honored to have a few from you guys. You’ve got our business for life! Wouldn’t want any other breeding lines. Merry Christmas!! 🎄
We love stories like this.

Wonder Oxbow first ride. He has been in IA for about 3 weeks at his new home. First ride, look in comments for ride 3.

These fillies sure are looking great. I might just have to raise the price. After Jan First.

Proud of you Sorley and team

Mrs. Geppert writes: "I’m incredibly proud of the Ag Issues team (Sorley Wetz, Orrin Youngberg, and Joe Eaton) for their outstanding performance at the state LDE competition today! Despite facing an unexpected challenge this morning and having to make quick adjustments to their presentation, they remained focused and did a fantastic job. There were 15 teams competing, and while we didn’t place in the top 10, this experience was invaluable. Make sure to tell these members good job if you see them around. The team has already been discussing how they can improve and what they’ll do differently next year. As a first-year FFA Advisor, I couldn’t be more proud of their dedication and growth. Excited to see what next year holds!"
