Update:Tarzan is doing good health wise. Now that he’s feeling better he’s a little upset with being caged to monitor him for his own good.
Hopefully we’ll be able to find him a permanent home soon.
Please Help Tarzan!
We got a call that there was a very sick cat laying outside a business in White Plains on East Post Rd, which is a very BUSY road. We were told that he was barely moving and had no interest in eating, drinking or moving.
A good Samaritan was able to get the cat into the shop to keep him safe. He stayed in the same spot the entire day. One woman said he looked like a new cat that recently appeared to show up the past few weeks for food and said he was friendly, she was able to pet him and he was very playful so we believe he is not a feral cat, but a possible dumped cat. A few phone calls and texts later, a few caring cat people met at the shop and were able to get the cat into a cat carrier and a Forgotten Felines Volunteer picked him up and transported him to the vet.
Upon examination by the vet, we were told the cat was an intact male, not microchipped and was partially blocked and couldn’t urinate. He was given medication and a catheter to try and unblock him. A cat that is blocked and can’t urinate could die a painful death within 24-48 hours. After two nights at the vets, the cat wasn’t improving and kept pulling his catheter out. They did an X-ray and saw his bladder was full of stones and now requires and expensive surgery to save his life. The overnight stays at the vet's office and the ongoing medical care he is receiving has become costly. The estimate for his care to date has grown to $8,000. We are a small non-profit animal rescue group who relies on donations from the public, we don’t get any funding or grants.
Please consider making a donation to Forgotten Felines to help cover Tarzan's large medical bill. Thanks everyone!

There are two, but If someone could take one so we can have them separated, I think it would help them be more social. Please email us at [email protected] if you can help or send a private message. Casey & Jesse were rescued back in November of 2023 after several diverted trips to NWP train station due to MTA not allowing us on their property.
Casey is the darker tabby and a little purr machine. Jesse steals all the food so they may need separate food bowls in their new home. They are currently in the enclosure at Petco in Hartsdale, you can stop by anytime and see them (through the plexiglass) to get a sense of their purrssonalites!! Just keep in mind it’s all new to them they’ve only been there a week and getting used to all the noises of dogs barking & shopping carts wheeling by! Stop by, fall in love & apply!

Lost this beautiful 13 year old late last night to a Saddle Thrombus. So hard to see a cat like that happily eating one minute, crying out in pain a few hours later. He was a semi feral rescued from Phelps Memorial Hospital property. He had the biggest paws, 7 toes & a weird deep throat meow. Although a shy boy, he was great with the other fosters. RIP Alex.

Elsa is only 4 yrs old and has been diagnosed with a bad case of stomatitis. It was recommended that she have a dental - full mouth extractions! She has gotten a shot of antibiotics, onsior & given prednisone till she can have her dental done in a few weeks. She had to be shaved because the stomatitis causes her to drool, it hurts to groom herself and it becomes sticky on her fur. We are hoping to raise $3,000 to cover her dental which is desperately needed. Please go to ForgottenFelinesNY.org to donate. She is a sweet lapcat & we are hoping to get her feeling better and into a forever home very soon. Thank you in advance.

Sylvester came in as an extremely shy cat. At first we thought he’d be great in a home with another cat to get him to come out of his shell, but he gained his confidence in his foster home. We are seeking a possible foster to adopt situation for him. He’d do best in a quiet home as an only cat, a good companion for a single or elder person. He does not like to be picked up, but will jump in your lap to be pet. If interested in giving him a try, please go to ForgottenFelinesNY.org to fill out our online application.

Need a foster
Desperately seeking someone with feral cat experience to help us with a sick kitty. Hoping to get him to a vet on Tuesday and hoping it’s just an inner ear infection. He may need to be on meds for a few weeks but would need to be kept safely inside, preferably caged so he doesn’t hurt himself. Is there anyone who is willing to help? Please send an email to [email protected] if you can help. Feeder is opting to euthanize if we can’t find temporary placement which is sad especially IF he just needs medicine and a safe place to recoup.
