EDIT - REWARD NOW $750

The Putnam County SPCA Law Enforcement Division is seeking the public's assistance with their investigation of animal cruelty in the Patterson area. An owned cat was shot possibly on or about August 20th. The three-year-old, neutered male orange tabby cat, owned by a resident of Bullet Hole Road, Patterson, was shot with a metal projectile, possibly an Airgun pellet.

Kiwi, the orange tabby cat, was examined by South Putnam Animal Hospital, where x-rays were taken. The metal projectile was observed in the ventral abdominal muscle wall, where it currently remains.
There will likely be further necessary medical treatment and surgery to remove the projectile.
Currently, the animal's owner is putting forth a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) who shot Kiwi.
Kiwi is currently home and recovering.

Please contact the Putnam County SPCA with any information or tips at 845-520-6915.

Update:Tarzan is doing good health wise. Now that he’s feeling better he’s a little upset with being caged to monitor him for his own good.
Hopefully we’ll be able to find him a permanent home soon.

Please Help Tarzan!

We got a call that there was a very sick cat laying outside a business in White Plains on East Post Rd, which is a very BUSY road. We were told that he was barely moving and had no interest in eating, drinking or moving.

A good Samaritan was able to get the cat into the shop to keep him safe. He stayed in the same spot the entire day. One woman said he looked like a new cat that recently appeared to show up the past few weeks for food and said he was friendly, she was able to pet him and he was very playful so we believe he is not a feral cat, but a possible dumped cat. A few phone calls and texts later, a few caring cat people met at the shop and were able to get the cat into a cat carrier and a Forgotten Felines Volunteer picked him up and transported him to the vet.

Upon examination by the vet, we were told the cat was an intact male, not microchipped and was partially blocked and couldn’t urinate. He was given medication and a catheter to try and unblock him. A cat that is blocked and can’t urinate could die a painful death within 24-48 hours. After two nights at the vets, the cat wasn’t improving and kept pulling his catheter out. They did an X-ray and saw his bladder was full of stones and now requires and expensive surgery to save his life. The overnight stays at the vet's office and the ongoing medical care he is receiving has become costly. The estimate for his care to date has grown to $8,000. We are a small non-profit animal rescue group who relies on donations from the public, we don’t get any funding or grants.

Please consider making a donation to Forgotten Felines to help cover Tarzan's large medical bill. Thanks everyone!

Looking for a foster for hissy spitty growly boy. Looking for experienced person. Area he came from is very busy so we don’t want to put him back. There are two, but If someone could take one so we can have them separated, I think it would help them be more social. Please email us at [email protected] if you can help or send a private message. Thanks in advance.
