Many of the unwanted traits become apparent when dogs are not given the right stimulus that they need to cope with city liv

ing. The close proximity of the space we share in city dwelling makes a reactive or aggressive dog stand out. It can also turn dangerous in some cases, injuring other dogs, cats or human adults or children. It is irresponsible for dog owners to allow this behavior to continue. At NexGen K9 we use a combination of techniques or "methods" We constantly update our skills by attending seminars and clinics. 🐾✨ Muzzles: More Than Just Safety Gear ✨🐾

Did you know muzzles aren’t just for “aggressive” dogs? 💡 They’re actually a useful tool for safety, training, and peace of mind.

✔️ Safety First – Prevents accidental bites at the vet, groomer, or in stressful situations.
✔️ Training Support – Helps manage reactive behavior while you work on positive reinforcement.
✔️ Emergency Ready – Essential if your pup gets hurt and may lash out from pain.
✔️ Responsible Ownership – Some areas legally require them in public for certain breeds.

🌟 A muzzle should never be a punishment! When introduced with patience and rewards, many dogs are comfortable wearing them. 🐶

🐕 Loose Leash Training – Part 2 🐾

In Part 1, we worked on desensitizing your pup to the leash. Now it’s time for the next step: getting the leash on while they stay calm.

This stage takes patience—sometimes a lot of it.
✨ Some dogs catch on quickly.
✨ Others… well, let’s just say you’ll need extra patience.

👉 The key: practice daily.
With consistency, calm energy, and repetition, you’ll soon find the process becoming smooth and stress-free.

🐕 Is Your Dog Losing Their Mind When You Grab the Leash? 🐾If your pup gets so excited the moment you touch the leash that you can’t even clip it on… you’re not alone. But here’s the thing: this is the very first step in loose leash training.📍 Step 1: Desensitize the Leash HypeBefore we ever step outside, we need to teach your dog that the leash doesn’t always mean walk time. Here’s how:🔁 Do this daily for a few days: 1. Pick up the leash… and place it somewhere else. 2. A few hours later, move it again. 3. Repeat. Randomly. Calmly. No walk involved.Your goal? Help your dog learn:“Leash in hand ≠ automatic walk.”This builds calm energy around the leash and sets the tone for real training later.🧘 Give it a few days. Be patient.Training starts before the walk begins. Some dogs calm down in 2 minutes, others might take 10 minutes—and that’s perfectly okay. The key is to wait for calm before moving forward.Once your dog no longer loses their cool at the sight of the leash—then we move to the next step.➡️ Follow for Part 2 of this training series!📞 Need help?
