On Today's session of How To Train A Therapy Dog, we have Chibi demonstrating how to sit calmly in Rob's lap while the other dogs are running around causing mayhem.
Unlike Service Animals which do a task for their owner and are covered by ADA laws, Therapy dogs are trained to bring comfort to patients or trauma victims who are not the pets owner and are brought in for that particular reason. The Therapy Dog has to be comfortable around noises and environmental distractions typically found at hospitals, courthouses or other public places.
