We are excited to announce that we now offer PRP treatment!!! What is PRP? We are so glad you asked…

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment is a technique used in veterinary medicine to promote healing and tissue regeneration in dogs. It involves extracting a small amount of blood from the dog and processing it to separate the platelets from other blood components. Platelets are tiny cells in the blood that are responsible for clotting and contain growth factors that aid in healing.

Once the platelets are separated, they are concentrated to form a plasma rich in platelets. This platelet rich plasma is then injected into the targeted area of the dog's body that requires treatment. The growth factors released by the platelets help stimulate cell repair, reduce inflammation, and accelerate the healing process. PRP treatment is commonly used in dogs for musculoskeletal injuries such as torn ligaments, arthritis, and tendon or cartilage damage. It can also be used for wound healing, dental procedures, and some skin conditions. PRP treatment is a safe and minimally invasive option that harnesses the dog's own healing abilities to enhance the recovery process.

Yesterday this big fella came in not feeling well. We discovered that he had a ruptured mass on his spleen. Dr. Christiansen and Dr. Miller jumped into action and removed his spleen (Splenectomy), saving his life and bringing him back to his family. This little boy pictured below would have missed him dearly.

Our whole staff had a hand in saving his life. Each member bringing their education and skills in an emergency situation. One member even donated their dogs blood for a blood transfusion.

Milo is recovering well and we love you big guy!

Gentle reminder that flea collars WILL NOT be enough to protect your pets from fleas. The warm months have started and we would prefer that your furry family members are well protected!

For dogs, we highly recommend Nexgard, Bravecto, or Simparica/Simparica Trio.

For cats, we highly recommend Revolution Plus.

Unfortunately, over the counter products, including Frontline and Advantage WILL NOT cut it. This used to be mainstay products but over the past 5 years, we have seen resistance to these products in fleas (search ks1 flea).

We will post more information about this in the coming week.

Please make sure your pets are up to date on their exams and have plenty of prevention to get your whole household through these upcoming months.

We are excited to announce that we now offer laser therapy for our furry friends! Reina was the perfect patient for her laser treatment. We used the laser to reduce inflammation she had on her wrist from excessive chewing. Feel better Reina!
