We dont come across these guys very often.....come check this beauty out!
The Fu Man Chu Lionfish, Manchu Lionfish, also known as the Twinspot Lionfish, or Ocellated Lionfish, found around the pacific islands, has red, white, and black vertical stripes along the body. It has large, fan-like pectoral fins, and tall, quill-like dorsal fins. It is unique from other Lionfish because of the two, feeler-like appendages on the chin.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium with numerous hiding places is suitable. It will hide while acclimating to its new environment. The top spines are venomous, causing reactions similar to a bee sting, only stronger.

When first introduced into the aquarium, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be used to entice this fish to eat. The Fu Manchu Lionfish diet consists of meaty foods such as live shrimp (including ornamental shrimp), live fish, and sometimes, crustacean flesh.

The Electric Blue Acara is a freshwater fish known by its scientific name (Andinoacara Pulcher). They are well-liked among aquarists and are becoming more popular due to their absolutely stunning blue appearance and ease in caring for them.
They originate from South and Central America and can be found in slow-moving waters. Since the Electric Blue Acaras are fairly large, they will not thrive in a small tank. The recommended tank size is 30 gallons, with water temperature of 72°F to 82°F and a 7.2 pH level.
Coming from the Cichlids family known for their aggression, the Electric Blue Acara are quite peaceful and well-behaved, making them an excellent choice for a community tank of similar-sized, amenable species.
The average size of the Electric Blue Acara is somewhere between 6 and 7 inches, and their average lifespan is 8 to 10 years.
A good balanced captive diet should contain bloodworms, and tubifex. They should also be fed, flake foods, cichlid pellets with frozen foods, including Brine shrimp.
The Electric Blue Acaras are peaceful and non-aggressive, making them very suitable tank mates and will get along with many species of aquarium fish that are robust. We have a nice selection in stock now here at AAG. Stop in this weekend to find more little jewals for your understanding water world.

The guppy (Poecilia reticulata), is one of the world's most widely distributed tropical fish and one of the most popular freshwater aquarium fish species. Guppies originate from northeast South America, but have been introduced to many environments and are now found all over the world. They are highly adaptable and thrive in many different environmental and ecological conditions. Male guppies, which are smaller than females, have ornamental caudal and dorsal fins. Wild guppies generally feed on a variety of food sources, including benthic algae and aquatic insect larvae.in the aquarium, flake food, tiny pellets, frozen foods are all excepted. They are peaceful and make a good addition to a community aquarium. This bristlenose pleco variety is incredibly unique and colorful, and it is an excellent scavenger for most aquariums.
The Blue Eye Lemon Longfin Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp.), also known as the Blue Eye Lemon Bushy Nose Pleco, is a member of the Loricariidae family of South American suckermouth catfishes. While many suckermouth catfish species have yet to be bred on any major scale in aquariums, the Bristlenose pleco is one of the most easily and often-bred “pleco” species in the aquarium hobby. This fish is immediately distinguishable by its highly variable brown and tan marbled pattern or albino color, as well as the growth of many bristle-like appendages on its facial area beginning in sub-adulthood. Both sexes grow the appendages, but the growth and length is much more pronounced in males. described and categorized, and classified by the “L system,” with the L being short for Loricariidae, the family representing South American suckermouth catfish. It is widely believed that the “L144” classification of this fish is a misnomer and that the true L144 pleco is not bred or even seen in captivity, Regardless, it is a very unique and beautiful tank-raised fish.
A generally peaceful and hardy species, the Blue Eye Lemon Long fin Bristlenose Pleco is an excellent, undemanding candidate for most aquariums. it grows to a max size of 4-5 inches. We have the short fin variety and this cool longfin variety in stock from our local breeders.

A new freshwater fish here at AAG. Leporinus Granti is one of the most attractively marked of all Leporinus found throughout much of South America but remains relatively rare in the hobby, with most of the specimens imported being collected from the rivers of Suriname. More recently, this species has been tank raised in limited numbers in Southeast Asia. A large (can grow to, 8") fast-swimming, but relatively peaceful species, they make an excellent tankmate for large cichlids or characins, especially other active, fast-moving fish. As with most of their close relatives, L. granti can be prone to nip fins or scales of slower moving tankmates and can be a bit aggressive towards some. Choose tankmates wisely.
Stop in this week Thursday thru Sunday to what else we may have for your aquatic world.

Stonogobiops yasha, the Orange-striped shrimpgoby, is a species of goby native to the Western Pacific Ocean where it occurs at depths of from 15 to 40 metres (49 to 131 ft). It inhabits sandy areas along the outer slopes of reefs where it lives in a commensal relationship with the pistol shrimp Alpheus randalli. This species can reach a length 1.9 in. The Yasha White Ray Shrimp Goby, also known as the Yasha Haze Goby or Clown Shrimp Goby is a very unique goby that is not often available in the hobby. A vivid red and white broken striped body with a large dorsal fin and black patch under the jaw sets this fish apart from other gobiesand is appealing to most hobbyists. It has the ability to form symbiotic partnerships with most species of pistol shrimp. It provides a watchful eye while the shrimp digs a burrow for them to share.
It is best suited for aquariums that are 10 gallons or larger which have adequate hiding places. The aquarium should have a tight-fitting lid to prevent this goby from jumping out. Very passive, this species works well in small groups or as an individual specimen. The Yasha White Ray Shrimp Goby is very hardy and adapts well to reef aquariums, as long as they are maintained with passive tankmates. It prefers a bed of fine sand and loose coral rubble to move around and dig its burrow. Come check this little guy out. He is just waiting for you to take him home to your reef tank. Stop in this Thursday thru Sunday to find some other cool gems. 6653 Grafton rd Valley City.

These little guys are just chillin....and a photo bomb from a clownfish......Feather duster worms, are a family of marine polychaete tube worms characterized by protruding feathery branchiae. Sabellids build tubes out of a tough, parchment-like exudate, strengthened with sand and bits of shell. Sabellidae can be found in subtidal habitats around the world. Their oldest fossils are known from the Early Jurassic. The Feather Duster uses the radiole to filter out small floating organisms, which it directs toward its mouth, located at the center of the crown. This a fun animal to add to your sand bed. Stop in this Thursday thru Sunday to pick one of these guys up for your reef tank. Aquatica Aquarium Gallery 6653 Grafton Rd Valley city

Aquatica Aquarium Gallery

Aquatica Aquarium Gallery is Ohio’s premier local fish store. Based out of Valley City, we are just 30 minutes south of Cleveland and about 35 minutes north of Akron. While we are a fish store that specializes in freshwater and saltwater fish, we’re so much more.

As some of you may already know, Aquatica has a unique way of doing things. Sure, we sell Cichlids and other freshwater fish, live plants, saltwater fish and live corals, but we’re about more than the sale. Our goal - our mission - is to provide each customer the experience they deserve. We treat our customers as if they were a guest in our own home. We take the extra steps to train our employees to provide the most accurate information that we can. We want you to enjoy the hobby through successful fish keeping. With over 30 years in the industry, we can offer the best advice to make sure you enjoy this hobby for many years.

For these reasons, we have modeled our business in a specific way. Every one of our aquariums that houses livestock there is separate filtration. This means two things... First of all, yes it is more maintenance. But the end result is that no two ecosystems are sharing water so if there is an issue (parasite or disease) then it’s easily treatable and has a minimal effect on our fish. We can quarantine each new fish we get in, which is helpful to ensure our customers get healthy, thriving livestock. We do things to reduce our waste such as recycle, but we also offer certain programs that help you save our oceans and environment as well. If you buy New Life Spectrum food from us, bring the empty jars back and we will refill them and give you a discount on the food. Re-use the containers, save money, save the environment.

We carry over 6,000 products from many manufacturers, but we also design and build acrylic aquariums and filtration systems. If you’ve ever wanted that custom aquarium to fit in a specific place or one built into a wall... we can help you with that. Just ask, we’ll go over the plans and make your aquatic dreams come true!
