One of my favorite days of the year has finally arrived…. Opening the double doors and airing this place out for the first time in months! The pups are certainly enjoying all of the sunshine today too!! ☀️

Bailey was quite excited that she was the chosen one to help me with office work! She was very convincing though that tennis ball fetch is more fun than computer work ❤️🐾

Several times over the years I have gotten the comment from clients… “If you just put more kennels in here, you could take so many more dogs”. Yes, I could. I could make more money that way. I could also give less individual attention to your dogs, the noise could be more chaotic, each dog could get less playtime in the yard AND… I would never end up with days where I have zero (or just a few) dogs here which allows me to do a MAJOR strip down and disinfecting of this entire building. Yes, mopping and the spraying/wiping down of kennels is good BUT…. This place would never stay so clean (and healthy!) without being able to actually spray down every inch of it! So…. 10 kennels it is. 10 reservations at a time…. and the ability to have days like this! 💦 🚿 🧽

Kaja the Border Collie: This is great! I could lay out here all day!
Aurora the Pittie: This is fun as long as I have my warm coat on over my pajamas!
Kota the ??Mix: I went out to p*e. Can I please just cuddle with my blankets now?
Me: At this point I am pretty sure my life closely resembles that of Paul Walker’s in the movie Eight Below. (Which, by the way, is the movie where Maya got her name from!)

Historically, the first full week in January is one of our slowest weeks of the year. Not in 2025 though! Lakona, Kimber, Tanner, Myka, Murphy, Zoe, Oliver, Myles, Mordy, Sophie and Waffles’ owners I’ll have the right idea in traveling somewhere warm this week!

Welcome back to Grateful Dog Kennels Lakona, Kimber and Tanner! I have about a half dozen Rottweilers on my “regulars” roster… and every time any of them are here I am reminded of what wonderful dogs they are! All of my Rotties are total love bugs with plenty of energy to run outside, but also settle nicely in their kennels. When they’re not playing, they can frequently be found sitting in between my legs or at my feet, looking for love, just as Lakona is here! I would definitely put Rottweilers on my top five favorite breed list!

Indoor playtime this morning since the world is a swampland. 🤪. Group 1 here is a little breed specific. 😂❤️ 🐾

A few of our Christmas visitors left today but many still remain to finish out 2024 with us!

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year 🎶

Just the sweetest group ever this weekend! Everyone is tucked in and ready for bed! Good night! 🌙 🐶

Arlo, Gia, Hershey and Mia are getting the weekend started off right!

This is certainly a well exercised group of pups! Their day started with potty breaks, breakfast, then post breakfast potty breaks all before 6:30 AM! They then had time to let their tummies settle and starting at 8:20 up until now have been on a constant rotation of groups outside to play! Everyone will rest now for a bit before dinner at 5 PM.

Nothing but the best for our trio of senior labs!
