Abigail has medium/long hair Tortie and delights in being groomed and petted. At approximately 2 to 3 years old, she has a calm and reserved demeanor.

Meet these two very affectionate and loving boys who are hoping to find a loving family to call their own.
Stripes is the grey and white with the pink little nose and Tito is the little grey boy. These two are perfect for any family looking for incredibly affectionate companions.

Stripes and Tito must remain on a special food diet due to having high food sensitivities. However, it is possible over time and getting older they may grow out of this.

Meet 3 month old Rex. He's a Border Collie, Husky, Beagle mix. He'll be a medium sized dog. He likes the cats here at the shelter and loves squeaky toys but he is definitely missing his brothers and sisters that have already been adopted. While playing he's already retrieving toys we toss. If you are interested in meeting Rex come to shelter open hours. Tuesday 1-5 and Friday and Saturday 1-6.

Meet the charming Candy, a calico with a distinctive dot on her nose, alongside her delightful sister Chrissy and the little Miss Lyla.

Today was a great day for these handsome boys!

Leo and little Popper have finally found their forever home with a sweet lady who is ready to spoil the two boys rotten.

Meet Hope an 8 month old amazing puppy. She is currently in a foster home to learn the ropes of being a guardian dog. She is working with goats, ducks, chickens and other dogs. She is Anatolian Shepherd and bloodhound mix and is trained to a buried electric fence. If you are interested in meeting Hope please pm us and we will arrange for the Foster to bring her to the shelter for you to meet.

Meet Mongo! He is a 2.5yo Retriever and Labrador x Catahoula Leopard dog mix and has been vaccinated, neutered, and chipped.A fun fact about Mongo is he is an absolute beast at fetch, he really is a retriever, he LOVES to play fetch and run in the play yard. He would also like to request a family who could play with him and take him outside to run around. Mongo is also good with kids and is very sociable. Mongo is ready for a wonderful home. Come by and meet Mongo during our open hours.

Today was a delightful day for some of our charming puppies and a precious little kitten.

We began with a gentle giant named Hershey, who found a loving home with a kind lady, gaining an older brother in the process.

Next, a lovely couple visited little Remi, one of Rosemary's pups, and he instantly melted in the lady's embrace, leading them to decide he was the perfect match, also welcoming an older sister into his life.

Finally, there was sweet Riggs, a tiny black tortoiseshell kitten who, despite being the smallest of her litter, captured the hearts of a wonderful family.
She also gained furry family members such as recently adopted Reagan and Roo.

Thank you all for making these precious animal dreams come true.

We are thrilled to announce that the charming little girl named Birdie has discovered her forever family. In addition to her loving new parents, Birdie has also welcomed two older siblings, one of whom is Tank, featured in the accompanying photo.

Overwhelmed with joy, Birdie could hardly contain her excitement upon meeting her new family, showcasing her exuberance and puppy delight.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who expressed interest in providing this sweet girl with a loving home. Please remember that many other affectionate animals are still seeking their forever families.

Sweet Sumantra arrived at the Jefferson County Humane Society on January 29, 2022, as a surrender intake. This affectionate cat has longed for the moment when a caring family would welcome her into a permanent home.

Unfortunately, her journey to find a family was challenging due to the absence of fur across her body, which led many to overlook her.

Today marks a significant milestone for Sumantra, as she has finally joined a loving forever family.

We extend our gratitude to all who open their hearts and homes to our animals seeking a permanent place, with a special appreciation for those long-term residents whose adoption stories are particularly heartwarming.
