The Pintail Drake is by far one of my favorite ducks to hunt and for good reason they are just plain majestic!

You might recognize this bird from our Resurrection Waterfowl logo.

This chocolate top was the first really nice Drake that I had a opportunity to harvest and mount. He came from Southern Oklahoma

My waterfowl instructor called him a 360 bird because even though he is a little smaller in size, he has it all going for him any direction you face him.

This is a true testament that if your a little picky about making sure the birds you have mounted are good quality late seasons birds that are in great shape from field to freezer.

Then you will end up with a awesome finished product!

For the longest time the Wood duck was my target duck I spent many seasons trying to close the deal on several different hunts just to come up unsuccessful.

Finally 2 seasons ago with the help of some good friends that were kind enough to invite me to their lease I got it done. To say it was worth the wait would be a understatement.

These birds are simply beautiful there is no denying it. They have so many vibrant colors and just look awesome. Since then I have shot several but this one will always hold a special place in my heart and memory.

I'm proud of how this Stud turned out. He is definitely a Head Turner 😍

Anyone else have a Heart throb 🤎 for a "Hollywood" aka the Poor Man's Mallard 🤣

We sure do! This Drake came from the deep woods of East Texas and we still need to put some leather strap around his hanging leg to complete the realistic look but He's definitely is a looker.

This was also one of my taxidermy class birds and actually it was my evaluation bird.

Here is a neat example of how just the right amount of old historical duck hunting gear can really help to create the right look for a dead mount.

I'm pretty proud of the way it turned out and I learned so much from Matt's class.

One of my class birds this was a Big East Texas Greenhead he definitely turned out pretty sharp. This is a extreme pose like he is dropping into a timber hole.
