Three years ago, we got a message from a mom whose 15½-year-old daughter was looking for a job. We were hesitant. Itâs a lot to bring someone that young into the foldâbut her mom assured us she was responsible, mature, and motivated. So⌠we took a chance.
And wow, are we glad we did.
Riley joined the Pig Luv Co Village and quickly became an essential part of our crew. She learned fast, worked hard, and did everything with care and thoughtfulness. At first she was quiet and a little shyâbut if you know us, you know we donât let anyone stay in their shell for long. Riley bloomed. Sheâs quirky, funny, and became one of our lead trainers for new villagers.
While sheâs been with us, weâve watched her grow up. Literally. She got her driverâs license (and cars!), graduated high school, enrolled in a career training program, started her externship, and even began working in her fieldâall while showing up for the pigs and the team like a pro. Multitasking? Sheâs got that down.
Today is Rileyâs last day working at the sanctuary. Weâre sad to see her go, but incredibly proud of the woman sheâs become. The pigs (and people) will miss her deeply.
Thank you, Riley, for your commitment, compassion, and for being a part of our village. This isnât goodbye⌠itâs see you later. â¤ď¸
