Its that time of year that this problem shows up. It's called BLOSSOM END ROT. It shows up as an ugly blotch on the bottom of (primarily) tomatoes.

IT IS NOT A DISEASE OR FUNGUS. I repeat it is not a disease or fungus...no matter what it appears to be.

Factors that encourage blossom-end rot include low soil pH and low levels of calcium,

Dark blemishes appear on the blossom-end of affected fruits as cells break down. They may enlarge until the entire bottom of the fruit becomes dark, shrunken, and leathery.

Solutions include improving soil Ph before planting---applying Calcium Nitrate ---applying liquid calcium(Fertilome Yield Booster in RTU or concentrate)

Hi! My husband's Service Dog “Jeter” is needing surgery. My husband has had the medical need for a service dog now for the last 8 years, because we never knew when the next time would come he would have internal bleeding. He has been hospitalized many times during the last 8 years, has had a heart attack, multiple mini strokes, and has died and was brought back. He also went through a liver transplant this past year for liver cancer. We now are requesting help for his Service Dog. Jeter has been faithful and by his side for 8 plus years and the Vet believes we are dealing with a tumor. Our heart is broken as we feel so helpless and want to provide Jeter with the medical help he needs as he provided for his owner so many times.
