Two volunteers started this “changing the outcome” page when CHS was under different management and animals were not being put out to the public. We are SO proud at that fact that our page is no longer needed because the current proactive, dedicated, passionate staff is doing most amazing job of advocating for their animals! Thank you Amber & team for turning this shelter into something worth being proud of. 🫶🏼
There's another Pandemic going on.
It's not like the one you're thinking of.
This one has to do with DOGS.
Stray dogs.
Overbred dogs.
Dogs in heat getting out.
Unwanted dogs.
Aggressive dogs.
Dogs labeled as aggressive.
Neglected Dogs.
Abused Dogs.
And the list continues.
We are over run with DOGS.
Rescues are OVER RUN with DOGS.
Transports are slowing down.
The northern rescues are now full.
For the past 18 or however many years... this county has continuously euthanized when they needed space.
Just like many other shelters have had to do.
But guess what?
That hasn't SOLVED the problem,
Only made it worse.
It has ENABLED those who don't care,
To continue to be CARELESS.
But we've taken a stand and said NO MORE.
We will FIGHT for EVERY adoptable animal.
We will HELP Chambers County get these dogs off the streets,
We will give adequate resources to those in need of help
And
We will help REDUCE THE NUMBER OF DOGS THAT END UP IN THE SHELTERS.
Today Phalisha and I stand here PROUD that WE earned the NO KILL STATUS for 2023, which is a HUGE WIN for Chambers County and this shelter!!!
And we would like to say Thank you for all of your continued support!!!
But in the SAME BREATH
We also have to say how devastatingly FULL we are at this moment and we once again need YOUR HELP.
We all want the same thing.
We WANT ANIMALS OFF THE STREETS AND BEING TAKEN CARE OF PROPERLY.
But In order for us to CONTINUE to help and provide resources AND remain a NO KILL for this year, we are now asking for FOSTERS, ADOPTERS OR RESCUE COMMITMENTS.
Becoming a no kill has relied heavily on marketing the heck out of the dogs, hosting events, calling every rescue we can... all of which we have been doing tirelessly so please,
If you are interested in adding to your family, PLEASE consider stopping by or filling out an application online.
We have a lot of GOOD DOGS (and Cats, although we move cats much faster)
But please consider us, tell your friends, your family, your neighbors about us. Let them know that we are HERE and our dogs are HERE just waiting to meet their perfectly matched family.
Please help us celebrate our no kill status too, by liking, commenting and sharing so this post can reach far and wide!!!
Thank you again,
Amber Mingin
