Prince Philip has a chance to go to a great northern rescue partner if we can find someone to help us. All we need is a two day foster that can take videos and pictures of sweet Philip interacting with dogs and just living life in a home. Can you help? This is Philip's big chance to find a home. If no foster comes forward we have to board Merlin. We are struggling. Our electric bill is due and we are getting low on food. Please consider helping our small rescue. We are really having a hard time. Boarding cost is $490.

Merlin is coming back due to no fault of his own. The resident dog is a senior and wasn't ready for such an energetic boy like Merlin.

It's official!!! Axel (formerly Whorton) has been officially adopted by his foster to adopt family! They report that Axel is the best boy with lots of love to give. We are so thankful and happy for Axel's new amazing family. Axel waited almost three years for his happy ending. There are so many dogs in rescues right now, just as amazing as Axel, waiting for a family. If you would like to provide a happy ending for a rescue dog, please message us. We would be thrilled to tell you about our amazing dogs who want to be like Axel! Thank you, Axel's family, for giving him the life he deserves.

We have fantastic news! Whorton, a two-year resident of Big Valley Animal Rescue, has moved into a foster to adopt home with a wonderful family out of state. We met them today(they are awesome), and Whorton is already settling nicely into his new life, with two dog siblings and very dog experienced humans. He loved them instantly and couldn't wait to get in their car! Happy tails sweet Whorton! Enjoy your amazing new family!! You deserve it!!

We are down to our last bag of dog food.

We have been using Sportmix lately and have had good luck with the orange and yellow bag.

We still have dogs in our care. Lady has had a large vet bill so far without her spleen surgery over $1000 already. Lady had a set back with an infection on her tail that required immediate amputation. Our utility bill was almost $300 this month.

We are no longer in taking . We will continue to help these babies. Please consider helping.

Lady has more blood work today. Her numbers have somewhat improved and after additional vets checking her X-rays she doesn't show a tumor. Her spleen is enlarged and vets are leaning towards a possibility of an autoimmune disease. Her vet bills have already been close to $900. Thanks for all of your support. We are under doctors advise to hold off on surgery. Please continue to pray for Lady and her hoomans at BVAR.

$50 more donated today!! We are still $520 short. Lady will have surgery tomorrow. Please consider helping.
You guys donated $130 more today. Making a total of $430. We still need $570 more for Lady's surgery to remove possible tumor on her spleen. The surgery will be exploratory and we have to have the funds by Monday.
Lady came to Big Valley at the beginning of 2023. She wss previously chained outside and used for breeding. She developed mastitis and has oozing sore when her owner took her to the vet. At that time Lady was 20lbs and after the vet told the owner she couldn't have more puppies he said euthanize her then. Fast forward Lady had recently dropped some weight. We took her to 2 vet appointments that ran almost $700. Today we received a diagnosis of an enlarged spleen and possibly a tumor. The only chance she has now is surgery. We have raised about $300 today we still need at least $700 more for her surgery. Please help us give Lady a chance.

Lady is at the vet for a follow-up. She is an 8 year old senior. She has a tumor and needs emergency surgery. Please consider helping her. We know how hard it is this time of year. But dogs don't take holidays.

Hazel
Update: Hazel is now in a foster home! Thanks for all the good wishes for her. We have other great dogs who need fosters if anyone is interested.
Hazels being returned tomorrow from her foster to adopt. She is shy but very gentle and MUST have another dog her size so that she can thrive. Hazel is skittish but slowly warms up. She was a shelter puppy and missed socializing early. When she is with another dog she opens up and plays and acts like a dog. We really want her in a home with a dog friend. The fosters were informed that she needed another dog but we're hoping she could cope without one. Hazel remained scared and withdrawn. Please consider fostering or adopting Hazel. Would you be willing to foster her so she can spend some time enjoying life with another dog friend while we search for her forever home? If so, we will provide food and supplies. Please message us if you can help this sweet girl who just can't catch a break. Thanks.

We have an update on Major! He has been adopted! His future mom asked about him on day one of his stray hold and came to meet him at Tractor Supply the day his stray hold was over. We handed the paperwork over to Megan and made it official. We think we just had another one hit the jackpot. Thank you so much Megan Brown for adopting Major, keep on spoiling him!
