Here’s the full video of our 50th and last track of the 2023-2024 tracking/deer season. No voiceover or anything extra, just the track and the recovery.
Quick video of our 50th and last track from the 2023-2024 season.
Last track of the 2023-2024 season
Leg shot buck turned into gut shot buck. Upon impact at hind leg joint the arrow deflected upward and into the gut/intestine area. Coyotes bumped this buck from his bed and Bois d’ Arc was able to pinpoint a big loop in the line where they tried to finish him off by tearing pieces of intestine out. He managed to pull free and go another 150 yds or so before they finally brought him down. We had no choice but to leave this buck overnight. By the time we found him he was still slightly warm. Timing is everything when it comes to tracking.
Layed a nice short track for Cypress early afternoon. Ran it at 6 hours. She pulled off once a bit to much so Carrie just stayed put and let her work it out. She got back on and pulled off a couple more times but realized she was off and came back in. She was hammerin down so Carrie shortened up on the lead and tightened up to slow her down. She did a great job for the most part but for some reason, the handler who layed the track, 😒 me, forgot to put a treat at the end. Not thinkin she was very happy at that moment. 😳 Great job Cypress!! 🦌🦮
Side note: took Bois d’ Arc to run the same track after Cypress, and she crushed it. 👍🏻
75 yd track for her 4th track ever. She’s a bit slow and pulls off several times, but with extremely high humidity the scent is everywhere. We let her take her time and work it out. She seems a bit distracted at times, but gets back to work as she should. I will not allow her to ask for help, she needs to solve her own problems. In the end, her goal is to recover what lays ahead, which she has in all 4 tracks that we have layed for her. Are her tracks pretty, no, but she works them out as she should and accomplishes her goal. We’ll continue to work with her to make her be the best blood tracker we can. We believe that she’s going to be an outstanding pup and will strive to make her the best, just as we have with Oak Hills Bois d’ Arc. Great work Quest Kennels Cypress! Onward to greatness……. 🦌🦮
Another short clip of Carrie and Bois d’ Arc’s UBT 2 test. 🦌🦮
Here’s a small bit of Carrie and Bois d’ Arc’s UBT 2 test. It was definitely a track to remember. 🦌🦮
UBT 1 in the books. 1 call back right after the start, and then Bois d’ Arc crushed it. 🦌🦮
I’ll be attempting to post a few segments of the track that I laid for Bois d’ Arc last Sunday. It was a tough track to say the least but she managed to pull it off. She’s headed for greatness. 🦌🦮
Well deserved reward. She will not leave it behind, drop it, set it down, or chew on it, till we get home and inside the house. That’s her trophy……. 🦌🦮🏆
This was Bois d’ Arc’s last track of the year that we did for Craig Woods of Atlanta, Texas. We ran into a situation where she had a really tough time making out the line, due to the fact that several other deer had moved through this particular area feeding on pin oak acorns. It took about 20 minutes for Bois d’ Arc to work it out, and that’s where this video comes in. She worked hard for this one. 🦌🦮
600+ yd track today in the rain. About 125 yds in she veered left instead of right but quickly figured it out and corrected herself. When we hit the spot where I felt the track went to the creek Bois d’ Arc decided that I wasn’t correct and lead me further down another 50 yds.. I was sure it was where we were supposed to cross so I took her back to just before the creek. This time she just wasn’t havin it and took me straight back to where she was headed. She hit the spot, made a 90 to the right, and off she went. Boy, talkin bout feelin like a fool, she flat out made me look BAD. 😂🤣 Keep in mind, i’m still learning as well. Anyway, Bois d’ Arc was on fire!! 🔥 Here’s the last 4 minutes and 19 seconds of the track. 🦌🦮
Here’s the track from a couple weeks ago that we did for JasonBaden Shackelford. It was definitely a great track with a great outcome. 🏹🦌🦮
Here’s the end of the 3 mile track the other night. What a happy ending for the hunter. 🦌🦮
This was Bois d’ Arc’s very first ever track last year at just 5 months old. I’d say she did very very well for just bein a pup. 🏹🦌🦮
9 outta 13 for Bois d’ Arc yesterday. She’s doing very very well this season and we’re so happy that she gets to do what she loves.
