🍀 Axolotl Luck? You Bet! 🍀

Some say finding a four-leaf clover is lucky, but have you ever seen an axolotl up close? These little aquatic wonders are just as rare and magical! ✨

🐸 Axolotls can regrow entire limbs, parts of their heart, and even their brain! Talk about a built-in luck bonus!
🌊 Unlike most amphibians, they stay in their larval form their whole lives—basically, they never grow up!
💚 In the wild, axolotls are only found in one lake in Mexico, making them even rarer than a pot of gold! 🌈

Check out this adorable little guy enjoying his lucky worm snack! 🍀🐸

💬 Comment below: If you had an axolotl, what would you name it? Let's hear your most creative names! 👇

🥧🦎 Pi Day… but make it reptile edition! Meet Opal! 🦎🥧
Happy Pi Day (3.14)! While we usually celebrate with pie 🥧, Opal the chameleon prefers live snacks instead! 🍃🐛 Watch this young chameleon’s tongue strike in slow motion—it’s as precise as a mathematician calculating π to the 100th decimal! 🤓📏

Fun Facts About Chameleons:
🔹 Their tongues shoot out 2-3 times faster than a blink! 😱
🔹 They don’t actually change color to blend in—they do it for mood, temperature, and communication.
🔹 Their eyes move independently, giving them nearly 360-degree vision! 👀

🐛 But chameleons are not beginner pets! They need:
⚠️ Precise humidity & temperature—too much or too little can cause health issues.
⚠️ Live food only—no pies or frozen meals for these guys!
⚠️ Large, well-ventilated enclosures—glass tanks don’t work!
⚠️ UVB lighting—essential for bone health.

Drop a 🦎 in the comments if you love chameleons! And tell us—what’s your favorite kind of pie? 🥧👇

🐾 💉Keep your pet healthy while you’re away!

Are your pets updated on their vaccines? Here at Arbor View, updated vaccines are required for boarding not only for the safety of your pet but fellow boarders and staff and different animals require different vaccines. Along with vaccines, kennel assistants here do their part to keep your pet’s kennel clean daily and will alert you and your veterinarian if there are any signs of illness.

It is recommended (not required) to update vaccines two weeks before boarding for best immunity. If your pet needs to update their vaccines, our veterinarians are happy to help you!

Grateful Hearts & Full Bellies!

A huge thank you to Judd’s amazing owner for the thoughtful Dunkin’ treats! Your kindness made our day, and we are so grateful for the trust you placed in us to care for Judd during his surgery and recovery.

🐾✨ Fun Fact Friday: Keeping It Calm & Fear-Free! 🐶🐱

Did you know that many vet clinics (including ours!) use low-stress and fear-free handling techniques to make visits easier and more comfortable for pets? 💖

Our own wonderful Dr. Love just did a presentation for our staff on how to recognize stress cues from dogs and how to help minimize their fear and anxiety when visiting the vet!

Here’s how we help keep tails wagging and purrs going during exams, nail trims, blood draws, and more:
🦴 Food Distractions: Treats make everything better—especially when they help pets focus on the yummy stuff instead of what we’re doing! 🍗
🎵 Singing & Soothing Voices: Sometimes a gentle song or calm words can make all the difference. 🎶💗
🛋️ Comfortable Handling: We use gentle restraint techniques whenever possible to keep pets feeling safe without adding stress. 🐾
😃 We encourage happy visits in order to associate positive associations with clinic visits! 😊

By focusing on emotional well-being, we make each visit as positive as possible—for both pets AND their humans! 💕

✨ Meet Mama & Her Adorable Pups! ✨

Did you know that guinea pig babies, also called pups, are born fully developed and ready to take on the world? Here are three fun facts about these tiny, furry bundles of joy:

🥕 Born Ready! Guinea pig pups are born with fur, open eyes, and can start nibbling on solid food within hours of birth!

Mini Zoomies! Even as babies, guinea pigs love to “popcorn”—a cute little jump of excitement when they’re happy!

Fast Learners! These little ones learn by watching their mom and siblings, picking up social skills super quickly.

🩺 Advanced Diagnostic Imaging: See the Difference with CT Scans! 🐶🦴

When it comes to getting a complete picture of your pet’s health, CT scans are a game-changer! In this video, we’re showcasing two separate CT scans from the same dog to demonstrate the incredible detail and diagnostic power these images provide.

💡 Why use CT imaging?
✔️ Detailed 3D views of bones, tissues, and organs
✔️ Superior dental imaging—far more comprehensive than traditional X-rays
✔️ Helps detect fractures, tumors, infections, and more
✔️ Minimally invasive with quick results

CT technology allows our veterinary team to diagnose complex issues with precision, ensuring your pets get the care they need faster and more accurately.

📸 Fun Fact: Did you know CT scans can rotate 360° for a full 3D view, helping us plan surgeries or treatments more effectively?

Arbor View Animal Hospital

The original clinic before Arbor View Animal Hospital was built in 1964 and was called Hanrahan Animal Hospital. In 1979 the name was changed to Arbor View Animal Hospital. In 1987 Arbor View became a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). AAHA is an organization that is dedicated to professional development, hospital standards, outstanding publications, and the excellence of its education programs. This organization was created to help better the quality of practice and animal care in the veterinary field . There are hundreds of standards that a Veterinary clinic has to practice in order to become an AAHA member. Being a AAHA accredited hospital sets us apart from other Veterinary Hospitals because we choose to provide a better higher standard of care to our patients. If you want further information on what it means to be an AAHA member, please visit aaha.org. We see a variety of pet’s including dogs, cats, and numerous exotic species (birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, pot belly pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and other small mammals). Arbor View Animal Hospital is proud to continue practicing high quality medicine and compassionate animal care.
