Good to know deworming tips for fall!

What's the deal with fall deworming?

Fall deworming is meant to catch tapeworms, strongyles and bot worms.

Because of parasite resistance to dewormer we are careful how we do this.

For us, knowing that botworms cannot be detected by a f***l, we make timing the dewormer target when bots are able to be killed (if the horse lives in an area where bots are an issue).

This means using a product that says boticide, and waiting until after the first complete hard frost.

A complete hard frost is when Everything is frosted. Cars, the roofs, the ground, the tops of the fences...

Using dewormer responsibly like this will go a long way towards making sure that we don't eventually live in an area where no products are effective.

By the way, if anyone would like to send some of this, we will be going through A lot very soon!
