Almost Home is an all volunteer staffed facility that is dedicated to the love, care and placement of dogs that are placed in our care. The shelter was co-founded by the current board president, Jo Ellen Banhart, in March 2017.

Almost Home has been blessed with a newer van . We saw the need to replace our older van so that our dogs could take their longer journeys to their new forever homes Safe travel is our main concern
We set the amount needed and ask our followers and community to help us reach the goal
Because others shared our drive and mission , the funds were raised and the van was purchased
Almost Home Board members and volunteers are grateful and thankful !

This little guy was found in the middle of the road He weighed a little over a pound , maybe four years old and should have weighed 7 to 10 lbs
He was covered in fleas and his toenails were growing under his pads He was so weak he could not stand up He was so dehydrated that fluids had to be given under his skin because his veins were collapsed
This little one was wrapped in blankets and given love and attention for 24 hours by a vet tech who was determined to save him .
He passed away this morning
I hope and pray that whoever reads this will be an advocate for our stray dogs .
When you see something , say something ! If at all
Possible just don’t pass a dog by that is in need of help ..
I am so thankful that this little one was held and cuddled and was not laying in a ditch during last nights storm …
If this little one by chance belonged to someone who has been searching for a very long time, i am sorry for your loss .
