Dog House Grooming and Supplies

Dog House Grooming and Supplies We will groom any type of dog and yes we also do cats. We carry crickets, mealworms, dubia roaches and can get live and frozen mice
for your reptiles.

Dog House Grooming and supplies believes in treating your pet like our own. We baby them thru the whole grooming process. With our windowed grooming area you can view your furry friend or they can watch out the front window and watch the people or traffic go by. For our furry clients that may need to go to the bathroom we have a yard they can use
We have several shampoos for most skin conditions t

o help with scratching, dry skin, fleas or even just a smell good bath. The grooming process starts with a rough cut. This is where we brush out any tangles or shave any mats off, clip and file the nails, pluck or clean the ears,
clean the pads and sanitary areas. Next we move to the bath where all of our clients get a cleaning bath, then either a medicated or smell good bath. If we find fleas
they get a flea bath then a smell good bath. Sometimes extra dirty pets get three or four baths. Now its off to get dry. We will see if they will tolerate the high powered dryer and if they are thick coated or curly this dryer blows the curls out or all the thick coat out. If they don't like this then we use either a hand held dryer or sometimes a cage dryer. When we clip or shave any hair we use a clipper vac which give
Stop in as a very precise cut. We try to make sure they don't leave with a lot of loose hair on them. After their spa session is over they can be spritzed with one of our several colognes to help keep them smelling just washed for several days. We also offer a bandana,
collar bows or hair bows. We carry several holistic pet foods. All of them are corn, wheat and soy free. Some are even grain free. We have samples of most of them so you can try before you buy. Some of the brands are Fromm, Evo, and Zignature just to name a few.

So I took some puppies in as a rescue and I am currently fostering them for the Van Wert shelter. I originally went for one but went back and got the other three simply because they needed more than they were getting where they were living originally. Starting to get some weight on and they have had their first shots and have been spayed and neutered through the shelter. Now they need to find their forever homes. The people that had them said they were German shepherd/ Australian shepherd mix, but they look like a border collie mix to me. They are super smart, they have learned when I say go to the kennel it means to go out to the big fenced in area in the yard. Working on potty training outside but it’s a hit miss right now. They come most of the time when they are called, sometimes they get a bit sidetracked and will check something out. There are two females and one male. So if anyone is interested put your application in at the shelter.

I just wanted to mention that any no show no call will be required to pay for that grooming appointment. Yes I work a full time job and only do this part time. But I am still pretty busy and have a list of people that want to get scheduled in. When you don’t call and cancel 24 hrs prior to your appointment and are not here for your appointment time, and do not answer when I call it’s a bit late to get someone in for your slot. I understand things come up and I’m pretty accommodating when I am called, but I have always had the policy of the no show no call that you will be billed I just never I forced it because I had extra time in my days. Unfortunately I will have to start charging for missed appointments with next to no exceptions. I give you 24 hrs to return my call then you are charged. If you have any questions please call and I will answer them for you.

I just wanted to let everyone know the price you pay is determined by coat condition and the length you want to keep it. I can no longer groom dogs in full coats or longer length without charging for the extra time it takes. The basic charge is a shave down price and not for a longer more detailed groom charge. I will not demat a dog that has several mats with out charging a de-matting charge. It’s not fair to your pet to have to endure all the pulling and tugging of getting the mats out. If you have any questions please feel free to call or message me.

I just wanted to throw is out there. I had a dog in today that was in his own home and was terrorized by ppl setting off fireworks, missiles, etc. Unfortunately people don’t wait until the fourth of July to start lighting fireworks. I personally feel that if you have close neighbors maybe you could say something to them or ask if they are ok with it so they can prepare their kids or pets for the noise. But the reason for this is if you have pets that do not like the noise please call the vet for something to help them through it, especially if they are outside dogs. Make sure they have a phone number and name on their collars. I seen a post that someone shared where they used painters tape and put it around the collar with the dogs name, phone number and address. Happy Safe Fourth everyone!!

Wanted to share this post. Great idea for dogs that have no info on them.

Wanted to share this post. Great idea for dogs that have no info on them.

Someone passed this onto us and we thought it was a great idea to share.
With the 4th of July right around the corner we tend to get several calls about dogs getting out, and owners frantically trying to find them. We ask that you make sure your dogs have their collars on, updated contact information on their licenses, or do something similar to the picture below !
We can not scan for microchips. We do not have a scanner, and if the vets offices are closed, we will have to transport any found dogs that are unclaimed to Lake County Dog Shelter.
We love our community fur babies and want to make sure they are safe! 🐾💕
