What started out as a passion, has transformed into Lily's Haven inc., a non-profit equine rescue organization established in 2020. In short, our goal is to rescue and rehab horses that need a better life. I have always had a passion for animals of all sizes and could not live without the love and compassion an animal can provide. This passion d

rove me right into the veterinary medicine field, affording me a twenty year vet-tech career. Horses have always been part of my life and I knew one day I would operate my own horse barn, but had to plan. Many months later, it was time. I made the decision to take the jump; I would start looking for my own horse. It had to be a rescue; some soul in need of a new life. A $400 horse named Lily from Aiken, led me down the path of falling in love with the equine world all over again. What started as a self-ran/self-funded barn has grown into a successful non-profit rescue operation. The experience in rehabilitating horses is amazing, emotional and therapeutic. With every batch of success comes struggle. The cost to serve and perform the care needed with rescue equine can be exhausting at times. We continue seeking help from local and domestic groups, as well as private donations to help facilitate supporting the efforts of Lily's Haven and to ensure we are able to provide the utmost of care to all equines in our facilities. My goal is to open the eyes of the public to how majestic, hardy, loving yet frail these beautiful creatures are. We have developed educational programs to teach (people of all ages) the correct ways to care and nurture equines along with the responsibilities of ownership. Maria was in a situation where she wasn't being cared for anymore. She was very thin and seemed as if she had given up. After Blake and I loaded her in the trailer, She seemed to perk up. It took weeks to start seeing her sweet personality.
She has gone through her quarantine period and no issues found except needs to continue putting weight on. She has been sound and will be a wonderful baby to add to your herd.

💥Urgent donations needed for new rescued horses 💥
We are trying to raise money for 5 new rescues. The cost for one rescue brought into the facility cost us Estimated $900.00 (which includes the feed, hay, supplements, medical care, vet, vaccines, teeth floated, farrier and first aid supplies) and can go up tremendously depending on the horses condition.

❤️ RED'S UPDATE❤️
Her infection on her hoof and leg are now gone. Her thrush in her right hoof has gotten so much better. We were able to do her corrective shoes and are already seeing some improvement. We still have a long way to go with thrush and shoes but at least we're headed in the right direction.
We want to thank everyone that has donated to help this sweet girl.
We still have a long road ahead and are still asking for donations to help support her treatment.

❤️UPDATE ON RED❤️ she has made some improvement. Hey infection is getting better. We are still treating her for thrush and anti-inflammatories to relieve the pain and inflammation. She seems to be walking a little less painfully. We will keep everybody updated. We still have a long journey with her but she has so much life left in her.

Today is Julian's BIG DAY!!! ulian is a QH rescue that came to us with fetlocks that are knuckling over. He would strain to walk, run or stand trying to balance for the farrier to trim his hooves. Today our farrier Callahan decided it was time for shoes. He spent time trying different shoes and decided to make a pair with a lot of extras especially for him ❤️ once we got the first shoe on we walked him and realized we finally saw a difference... THANK YOU CHRIS CALLAHAN for Loving these horses enough to think outside the box, to help these beautiful babies. What a surprise... We got 2 for one rescue😊 our new little boy was born last night. He's so perfect! I've never seen so much personality in a baby that's just a few hours old. Lola was a donkey we rescued a year ago. She was so afraid that she wouldn't let us touch her at first. Over the past year she slowly let us be a part of her life. Last night she trusted us enough to be a part of his life. She is doing great and being a wonderful mother❤️❤️❤️

Update on our baby squirrel Leroy.❤️❤️❤️ He's growing so fast. He's doing great. He has 2 small teeth in the bottom that finally came through. His eyes are not opened yet but I'm sure within the next week or 2 they will be. He's definitely a fighter...

Here's our new Little Rescue we've had for 2 weeks now. This little fella fell from the rafters at Bryan Alan Ferranti shop. Falling that far was bad enough but he hit a steel beam halfway down and then fell to the concrete. Since then, Bryan put something to catch the other babies if they fall. He had a pretty big lump on his head that has rapidly decreased in size. He is doing amazing and We will keep everybody posted as we watch him grow. ❤️❤️ Lily's Haven - Equine & Rescue Facility

Moments like this are priceless. Emily is our tan goat. 2 years ago Emily and her brother Wilson were born @ 3 weeks premature. her mom rejected them. The doctors didn't think they would make it so we brought them home with us to care for them. Blake became "momma goat" ... We lost Mr Wilson shortly after, but Emily hung on. She was never really completely accepted in the herd because she lived with us so long.
Fast forward 2 years we had Ava and her brother Logan. Very similar situations the mom rejected and we lost the brother due to a birth defect. We did not know how she would fit in the herd and wasn't sure Emily would even have anything to do with her. After a few days of getting to know each other now these guys are best friends where you see one you see the other and the connection get stronger and stronger. Emily and Ava both needed someone ❣️❣️❣️

Hi, I’m Julian. I am 2 years old and a really sweet boy. I was recently rescued and brought here to Lily's Haven - Equine & Rescue Facility.

My old owner wanted a horse that could he could ride, but I have a weak ankle. Also known as reversed fetlock. I need special braces to help strengthen my ankles. My previous owner decided I wasn’t what he wanted, so his plan was to ”put me out of my misery.”

But luckily I was rescued just in time. Hopefully soon I’ll have new braces and be riding in no time!

Hi, I’m Julian. I am 2 years old and new to Lily's Haven - Equine & Rescue Facility. I am a sweet boy that loves playing with my best friend, Magic.
