"River," the beautiful expectant mama pictured, is not mine, but she is pregnant by our handsome "Oliver" (GCHB DC Nefer-Temu Anubis' Green Lantern SC). It looks like River has been blessed with a few more puppies than anticipated, therefore there are a few yet available! Both parents are sound, great-moving AKC grand champions who are health tested and sport lovely, breed-typical temperaments.

Hi all! I'm the 2024 Pharaoh Hound National Specialty Event Coordinator. This is my first time spearheading a massive event like this, and let me tell you, it has been trial by fire and a ton of work (so far, and yet to come…), but I'm super excited about how it's coming along!

Our wonderful specialty committee is very busy preparing an amazing array of prizes and beautiful ribbons, as well as hospitality offerings, for all exhibitors and entrants, but WE STILL NEED HELP via trophy sponsorships!

Even if you can't join in person or aren't a member (even if you have a different breed but want to support Pharaoh Hounds!), you can be represented by trophy sponsorship. All sponsors will be listed in the catalog, unless you specifically ask to remain anonymous. No donation is too small! Our beautiful sisters from the Sun, Sand & Surf Litter - "Lima" and "Tyra" - at age 10 months. Both girls had a wonderful fun weekend of showing and really enjoy being in the ring and socializing.

Handsome "Blaze" lives in St. Louis and is out of our "Good Karma Litter" (Amon x Karma, brother to our coursing superstar, Echo). One of the best things about being a breeder is getting updates and photos of our puppies in pet homes across the country throughout their lives!

A little overdue, but 2023 year-end stats are out, and our beautiful blonde bombshell, "Twiggy" (Multi Group Winning, Multi BIF GCHB Nefer-Temu Kr'msun Slinky Showstopper SC) ended the year as #1 Pharaoh Hound bitch in the USA, all-systems! (And #2 overall breed-system, #4 all-breed). Notable wins include National Specialty BOS, National Specialty Best in Field, and multiple other group and best in field wins. She's beautiful and athletic. What a year! She just turned two years old in December and is an absolute joy to handle, and always shows her heart out and "owns" the ring. She also represents the fifth direct generation of our breeding.

We have been iced/snowed in (and school canceled) for 6 days. Everyone at Nefer-Temu has cabin fever (the 2 AND 4-legged). Thankfully, the deep freeze is over, and it's all finally melting.

It's been a while since we've made a "smiling Stilgar" post. He's 14 months old, a Champion, and maturing into a very handsome boy. But we adore his joyous, affectionate, and clown-like temperament more than anything.

Our last show of the year was our annual show where the red blazer I always wear blends into the photo backdrop. I have had this same red blazer for probably 20 years!
"Stilgar" - Nefer-Temu Sietch Tabr - age 12 mos - finished his Championship (the 56th Champion for our kennel) with Best of Winners for the final major he needed! And 7 month old littermates "Lima" - Nefer-Temu Lime in the Coconut- and "Tyra" - Nefer-Temu Teeny Weeny Strung Bikini - traded off as Winners Bitch for a major each. Our superstar "Twiggy" - GCHB CH Nefer-Temu Kr'msun Slinky Showstopper SC was the big winner of the weekend with Best of Breed each day and an amazing Hound Grouo 1st.

SECRET SANTA DOG
This is super easy and so fun!!
I’m giving this a try as I think it can be fun. Worst case is I’m making a dog happy by sending them a toy - what can be better than that? No pressure to participate, but if you are a dog owner (any dog! Doesn't have to be a show dog!), read on: it doesn't matter where you live in the U.S. - you are welcome to join! You have to buy one gift valued at least $10 and send it to your secret dog. (Hello Amazon!). Your dog will receive up to one dozen gifts in return. And the great thing is you can keep them or donate them! A present will brighten their day (and their owners, too). We could all use some happy mail.

CH Nefer-Temu Anubis' American Cowgirl for Kr'msun SC

She's 2.5 years old and still looking for an active home who would do things with her (more showing towards her GCH, for sure more lure coursing, and she would be great in rally, barnhunt, or nosework). She is a great lure courser, and only needs one major to finish her field/dual championship. She can also run for miles like it is absolutely nothing, so would be ideal for a long distance runner or biker that wanted a jogging/biking buddy!

I am actively trying to downsize the number of dogs I physically have at my house, as I have several amazing ones that I simply don't have the time to do the individual work with, so they are like wasted potential right now. The only reason Reagan is one of the ones available is that I know she would do great in another home after a short adjustment period. She is highly intelligent (which can be a double edged sword, believe it or not), quick learner, keen and alert, enthusiastic worker in whatever she's asked to do, and incredibly sweet with her people. Like a typical pharaoh bitch, she can be standoffish and act coy with strangers at first, but warms up and bonds very quickly and will be in your lap or bed in no time. She is one of our more assertive bi***es, but we have not had issues with her within our (large) pack. She adores kids, and has been raised with kids her entire life, but has not ever been tested with cats. We would still like for her to remain intact so that we could have the option to have a litter from within the next 2-3 years, as she has a beautiful Pedigree that we would like to integrate, but other than that, she would do great in her own home with an active owner. 

I know I had spoken to several people about her when I posted the general post about dogs being available about a month ago, but there were so many inquiries that a lot of them got buried and lost, so, if you reached out before, please reach out again. I lost a large chunk of my saved messages and don't have a way to contact you (I have looked).

"Twiggy" (GCHB CH Nefer-Temu Kr'msun Slinky Showstopper JC) wins BEST IN FIELD at the National Specialty Lure Trial in Gray Summit, MO!

Twiggy's half-sister, "Echo" (DC Nefer-Temu As The Call So The Echo SC), won Best in Field at the Western Specialty earlier this year in April, and now to have Twiggy win at the next specialty in the same calendar year is a real thrill. And Twiggy is now our 8th specialty lure trial winner.

"Surf" (DC Nefer-Temu Anubis' Catch The Wave SC, RI, CGC, VC) -- one of beautiful and multi-talented girls -- hunting those pesky squirrels that like to hang out in the trees at the bottom end of the property. She looks great, and has her figure completely back - you'd never guess she birthed and raised a litter of 10(!!) just 4.5 months ago!

This breed loves to play, and especially loves to wrestle! Here are two little girl puppies (10.5 week-old "Alba" from the Tom Cruise Litter, and 15 week-old "Ani" from the Sun, Sand, & Surf Litter). When you get still captures of the way they wrestle though, they can really look quite frightening and ferocious, but I assure you, they are playing and having a grand old time!

"Stilgar" - Nefer-Temu Sietch Tabr - (Oliver x Kaitain) had a blast at the WWHA shows this past weekend. At 8 months old, his second weekend showing, WD/BOW both days. He thinks this dog show thing is a lot of fun, and actually became quite proud over his pile of ribbons - he really knew those were HIS! Thank you to Heather Bakko for taking him back in for breed! You guys are becoming a team!

He humored us with a post photo, but the second photo is more authentic Stilgar, or "Silly Stilly" style.

--Also-- I'd be remiss without mentioning that our 'slinky showstopper,' Miss Twiggy, was honored with Best of Breed both days under two hound specialist judges in a lovely lineup of pharaohs!

Another one leaves the nest! Darci flew up to Portland this morning to pick up her puppy from the Cayman x Karma "Tom Cruise Movies Litter." He's smart, handsome, and super keen on the lunge whip lure - I'm sure we will be seeing a lot of this boy in ring and on the field!
