Summer is here! We are doing our best to accommodate all our wonderful clients! We have been taking on as many dogs as we can lately, to get everyone groomed!
Some days take a little longer than anticipated, and we apologize.
I have been reflecting on how to make our day run more smoothly for us, furry friends, and families.
We have been asked why we're only open 4 days a week, and that is because I have a precious brother named Marcus that needs me.
I have been working Sunday here and there, when it's possible.
We appreciate your patience and for all those older dogs and dogs with special needs, a Sunday appointment would be best!
We would love to be open every day, but for now that is just not possible. Hopefully someday soon, when we open the door for the right groomer, for our salon.
I ask our clients to please reschedule at pickup so you will have your appointment in advance, as we are scheduling out a couple weeks.
We love what we do and will continue to learn and grow, and to do our best! ♥️

A friend of mine is coming into town to help take care of her parents! She cannot bring both dogs into the situation. 😢 Here's the info I received:

This is Freya, Rehoming is ideal, but a dog sitter is lovely too.

Freya is one year old - just went thru her second heat.

She’s gently and loving - maybe a little moody. lol

She’s a talker. Most recently she seems to respond to “I love you” with “I love you too!” For real! It’s clear as day.

She loves to chew on her bones and an occasional Kong.

Freya is potty trained, rides well in a vehicle, and loves her crate.

She is however, 60 pounds! She pulls on the leash, growls at other animals but gets along with dogs just fine. She is often the one bullied. I’ve not seen her aggressive in any way, but she is greedy with her food! She is often in her sister’s dish before her sister is done eating.

Freya is a perfect dog when she’s the only dog. Loving, attentive and minds well. I encourage her to be the only dog in the family. She’s loyal and just wants to please you.

This is Buddy!! He's blind and I wanted to get a picture of him, but this was the best I was willing to do 🤩 Having him on the table unassisted or tethered, to stand back for a picture, was not in the cards. Just not fair to him. 🥰

Sometimes we get great pictures, Sometimes we don't.
We post them anyway. 🤩
We do our best with each dog. We have wiggly puppies coming in for the first time, older pets that need breaks or shouldn't have to bend due to arthritis/ joint issues, dogs that don't know us/ trust us just yet, and dogs that just plain don't like it.
Every dog is different. When I say we do our best..... that may mean that the groom is not perfect because it's just not fair to keep going, your dog may show high levels of stress that concerns us, or that we want to make it the best experience possible to gain trust with your dog.
We post the pictures ANYWAYS. If you see a dog that could "look better" there may be a reason. 🥰
We love our clients and their dogs. I've worked at other salons that are rude to clients and have a negative view towards people for whatever reason they can come up with.
We are NOT THAT SALON!
When I was a teenager, I used to take our golden retriever outside and bathe him with a hose (we had hot weather 😆) He would run and roll in the grass. He had impacted fur and mats on his rear. I didn't think much of it. I never brushed him.
I understand how bathing at home can cause matting and all the things now.
I'm not going to judge you for your dog's condition. I'll be happy that you brought them in.
I can understand that people will feel bad, as if they're not a good pet parent and it will cause you to wait even longer. DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP. We're ALL HUMAN.
Make that appointment, get your dog a fresh start if they need it. 🥰🤩

I will remember your dog's personality over their name every time! 😁 We love the silly dogs, the challenging dogs, the fearful dogs.... all the different personalities that each dog has. We learn what they need and what works best for them. Our absolute goal is to show each dog that they don't have to be afraid. We take it slow with older dogs, and the ones that are stressed or fearful. We give breaks as needed and let them go potty, or just shake it off. A lot of people will worry about their dog's initial reaction to being in a NEW grooming salon. The shaking.... wide eyes.... not wanting to come in. When a dog is in that fearful state of mind, the worst thing we can do is try to pet them or put more pressure on them. We take off their leash and let them smell and walk around. Then, we usually allow them to come say hello after they've settled down a bit. What we WANT to see.... is if they seem more relaxed when they COME BACK to our salon. Even a little bit is a win in my eyes. Our goal is happy dogs and happy owners. We absolutely love what we do. 💞

There's work..... there's play..... so excited about a Doberman. Don't get me wrong, i love them all, even when they're naughty..... however I lost my Doberman last year, my best friend..... and get overly excited to hang out with one. I may have kept him longer than I needed to. 🫣 We were outside, and when i walked up the steps.... he was trying to play with me and nipped my butt😆🤣😂😂
