Chip Your Pet Month on Tuesdays with Trixie Hello Again Human & Feline Followers! Why should you microchip your cat, you ask? Well, there are oodles of situations in which fluffy family members could be separated: open doors, natural disasters, squirrels or birds antagonizing you, the list goes on & on! Or you may be an indoor/outdoor kitty, like I was in my previous life. A microchip can increase cat family reunions by 200%!! What is a microchip? It's a small electronic chip inside a (usually glass) cylinder that is injected under your cat’s skin, usually between the shoulders. The chip is a transmitter with a specific number. The microchip is approximately the size of a grain of rice! Registering the microchip number is just as important as getting your cat one! Once registered, your cat's specific number & your chosen contact information will be saved in the manufacturer’s database. But, don’t worry your contact information is not on the chip! If your cat is lost or separated from you, a clinic or shelter can scan for the microchip number. That number allows the good samaritan to contact the microchip company &, in turn, the company can contact you. Call one of my human caretakers & inquire about our PetLink Lifetime Microchips! "National Black Cat Appreciation Day" on "Tuesdays With Trixie” Did you know that today is “National Black Cat Appreciation Day”? I may not be an entirely black cat, but I still think that I deserve to be recognized! To be fair, my associate Layla does happen to be a black cat herself. Layla and I decided to celebrate by having a race to see who could eat a treat the fastest. Some people say that Layla won, but I think it was too close to tell. Be sure to let any black cats in your life know how special they are today (and maybe give them an extra treat!). Love, Trixie
