It was so great to participate in the Dogpaw Off-leash Parks community vendor event today. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to chat. There's nothing we love more than meeting our community and their pets!

We also want to thank you to our volunteers for manning the booth! Charity, Dalton, Eva, Sidney, Virginia (and her Mom, our amazing bonus volunteer) answered questions and gave out swag like the pros they are! Our EPAH team is simply the best!

Finally, thank you to Willow Bee Photography for unofficially photographing the event and sharing these photos with us (and the beautiful photos that decorate our office!)

Hello clients. Our phones are down and unfortunately will be down as long as Google is down. If you’re having an emergency, please just head to the hospital so we can triage your pet. If you have a scheduled appointment, please show up at your scheduled time. Thank you for your patience.

Now is the time to put in your medication requests for the 4th of July! Please remember your pet MUST be current on a yearly exam in order to get medications, so please schedule your appointments ASAP if needed.

Unfortunately we are having more technically difficulties at the hospital. IT is working on it, but our internet is currently down. That means our phones and email are also down. The staff are using their phones to text communicate so once again, please be patient with us while we get this sorted out. Thank you.

To our clients: half of our building’s power is out. We will still be seeing patients tomorrow, but please be aware there will be no lights in exam rooms. Please give our staff grace as wait times may be longer due to our server also being down, so charting will have to be done manually. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

A big congratulations to Otter! Otter came to East Padden late last year, a kitten with symptoms of lethargy and a distended abdomen. Sadly, Otter was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis, or FIP, a potentially fatal viral disease that commonly affects kittens. Luckily, over the last few years, a cure to FIP was developed, and Otter’s owner promptly started him on the treatment. After his three month treatment, Otter is cured, and thriving! Dr. Baron is so happy to announce her third kitten patient to have completed therapy and survived FIP this year. Way to go Otter! ❤️

It's National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day!

According to the ASPCA, approximately 6.5 million pets enter shelters every single year. Of those 6.5 million, 1.5 million are euthanized. If you’re looking for a new pet, please consider adoption! There are so many pets in shelters looking for loving forever homes.

We'd love to see your adopted furry family in the comments

World Veterinary Day was started to promote the variety of work veterinarians do for our pets every single day. This year, the theme is Antimicrobial Resistance. Antibiotics have revolutionized human and animal healthcare, making once-lethal diseases curable, and it’s imperative that we keep antibiotics effective. Today, thank a veterinarian for working toward keeping all of us safe, humans and pets alike!

Hairballs are a gross, hairy mess, and they aren’t pleasant for our cats, either! As cats shed their excess winter fur to prepare for warmer weather, you may notice hairballs more frequently. National Hairball Awareness Day is the last Friday in April, and what better way to recognize that day than by spending a little time brushing your cat! You can also consider other options, like hairball-preventing treats and diets, to make your cat feel more comfortable.

Please don't share your cat's hairballs in the comments... but DO share your hairy cats!
