Flat Tack Farm We are a small scale farm growing delicious, chemical free fruit and veggies In Vancouver, WA. The project was launched in April of 2017.

Flat Tack Farm is a small scale farm nestled within the serene vineyard setting of Heathen Estate in Vancouver, Washington. They specialize in growing a wide variety of produce, all without the use of harmful chemicals while focusing on improving the land to a healthier state using holistic, organic practices. Market finds from Taupō New Zealand Sunday market- fresh berries from the Bay of Plenty, Lemon Cheesecake Rolls, Hangi BBQ frybread, local milk! And Raw honey & pasture raised eggs 😋

There's lots of beautiful arts and crafts at the market, food carts and live music. Only a handful of farms right now. It's still a bit cold here and most brought produce from a few hours north where it's a bit warmer.

Our very first Feijoas! Or pineapple guavas. They fell off the bush a little early and aren't totally ripe yet- but that's OK! We're just happy to see they will actually fruit here in our climate 😋🙌😍

They're native to South America- originating in Brazil I think. But we got acquainted with them when w

These bushes are going on 6 years old and have had a rough time with snow (one of them broke in half during the ice storm last year!) but they're hanging in there.

Next up to try- more kumquats and citrus!

With Homesteader Extraordinaire Lisa Marie and Farmer Kelly

What you'll learn: This is a 2 part series workshop.

Part 1 includes a Private 2 hour consultation with Lisa Marie where she will address your specific questions and needs to be able to raise your own flock of chickens.

Part 2 is a hands on Harvest Day workshop:

The reality of harvesting table chickens is that practice makes perfect, and there is no substitution for hands on experience.

When you get to harvest day, you want everything to go smoothly for you *and* the chickens, and you need to know that you can do it BEFORE you commit to raising these animals.

Get all the instructions and a hands on teaching to show you how to properly butcher a chicken.

As well as farm grown sides like Fresh Herb Potato Salad, Slow Cooked Collard Greens, Sweet Corn and Cheese Stuffed Peppers, Roasted Sweet Pepper Romesco Sauce, Smoky Baba Ganoush, Jalapeno Honey Corn Bread.

Our Bartender, Jeff will be pouring some delicious libations from Victor-23 Craft Brewery as well as farm crafted cocktails. We will also have non-alcoholic beverages like Watermelon Lime Basil Agua Fresca.

Purple is in!!!

Purple potatoes, broccoli, tomatoes, onions and beans

Purple veggies have anthocyanins (antioxidants that help repair cellular damage).

They help reduce blood pressure and prevent heart disease and cancers. They are also shown to prevent cataracts, brain damage and neurological conditions.

In the plant the purple color attracts pollinators- bees and insects! It also protects the plants from sun damage and cold temperatures.

The menu is out for our farm to Table dinner!

Indulge in a farm culinary experience! Happening next Saturday Sept. 21st

We’re going to make you the most amazing meal right here on the farm, surrounded by beautiful Clark County scenery.

Farmer Patrick is going to prepare a scrumptious pasture raised, local brisket from Primo Beef out of Woodland, WA - over an open fire with a farm grown Scotch Bonnet and Gooseberry marinade.

Farmer Kelly is making her famous (or going to be!) Black Garlic Burger Sliders with local pasture raised ground beef from Windy River Livestock.

Veggie Burger option is our Black Garlic & Farm Grown Bean Burgers with mushrooms from Harvest Moon Mushrooms out of Portland.

And- you can never have too much meat on a stick! Especially when they're Asian Pear Sticky BBQ Chicken Yakitori Skewers!!! Chicken from C&R Treasure Farms

All of these mouthwatering dishes will be made with things we grow right here on the farm.

Come experience this intimate connection with your food and where it comes from!
