After 42 years of exceptional care, our beloved Dr. Tom Meyer is retiring. His dedication and compassion has touched countless lives, both human and animal. We’re hosting a special farewell event to celebrate Dr. Tom Meyer’s incredible career. This event date & time is currently TBD and an announcement will be sent out once it is finalized.

Thank you, Dr. Meyer, for everything you’ve done. The Meyer's legacy of care will always be a cherished part of our clinic & community. We wish you all the best in this well-deserved retirement! 🎉💖

Patient Success Story: Levi ❤️

Levi is an English Mastiff who came to us for rehabilitation at just 10 months old. Levi suffered an injury to his front left toe. As a growing giant breed dog there were concerns about how he would develop around this injury. His rehabilitation goal was to decrease hyperextension of his toe while improving overall strength and posture of his front legs. The other goal for this rehab plan was to limit gait abnormalities in his other limbs as well. To help him grow and develop normally.

Now almost a year and a half later. Levi is doing great! He continues to come to rehab once a month for maintenance and to monitor his growth and progress. He is an active and energetic pup. You would never know by watching him move, that he was injured at such a young age. 🥰🐶

Lucy came in to have a mass surgically removed and to have her teeth cleaned. We will often recommend doing a dental at the same time as a smaller procedure. This way your pet only has to go under anesthesia one time. 😊

Lucy got some special treatment and recovered from her surgery in the comfort of the office on a big comfy bed.🥰 She loved to watch the people and dogs walk by. Then she got to go on a walk and enjoy the beautiful weather!☀️

Tick season is here and it is no joke this year.😮 We have seen an increase in ticks in this area. The best thing to do for your pet is to have them on an effective flea and tick preventative. Ask your vet for a recommendation for your pet. 🧑‍⚕️😺

Before bringing your pet in from walks, hikes, or anything outside (especially in tall grass). Check your pet for ticks. Remember they can be the size of a poppy seed!🤯

With the impending heat wave, it’s important to keep your pets cool and comfortable. Unfortunately, heatstroke and other heat-related emergencies occur more often than you’d think. Below are a few tips to keep your pet safe in warm weather.

• NEVER leave your pet in the car on a warm day!

• Be mindful of hot surfaces, pets can experience severe burns on their paws from walking on hot sidewalks.

• Only walk or exercise your dog early in the morning while it is cooler outside.

• Many seemingly harmless spaces can reach high temperatures quickly without proper airflow, fresh water or shade – including garages, attics, decks, rooftops, and even your own backyard!

• Know the signs of heat stroke and heat distress:
- Vigorous panting and excessive drooling
- Dizziness or disorientation
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Collapse and/or loss of consciousness
- Dark red gums, tongue, or mouth

If your pet is experiencing signs of heat distress or heat stroke, contact Pacific Northwest Pet ER and Specialty Center at (360)635-5302.

We all love to see the cute doggle photos, but why are they wearing them?😎

These pups are receiving cold laser therapy. We use a strong medical grade laser on affected areas for many benefits 🤩! Including, decreasing pain and inflammation, increasing blood flow, relaxing muscles, and even as an antimicrobial wound treatment! 🤯Ask your vet if cold laser therapy could benefit your pet.
