Sweet Peachy! Many of you will remember this gorgeous girl and the story of her beginning, along with many others. Peach is a Panda Paws Rescue Alumni and a survivor of Nick Baugh. She survived a horrific beginning in a tiny kennel, crammed with littermates, covered in f***s, no water, malnourished, X.Y.Z.. You can google this for more information but for now, I want to share that she is thriving, & she also needed a huge surgery today. Peach had a TPLO today and she is now home, doing well. We thought she would need both needs done, but y'alls favorite, Dr. Shawn Thomas discovered that only one knee needed a helping hand. She is home resting and doing well but this is a marathon, not a sprint. Panda Paws Rescue covered 1/2 of her medical bill & we are asking for donations so we can help the next in need. If you can and wish to donate towards her $3500 medical bill, you can do so here or on our website www.pandapawsrescue.org. Panda Paws Rescue stands behind our alumni kiddos and I hope to be able to continue for years to come.

Cowboy Rodeo took his first trip to the salty ocean this week with his buddies!! He LOVED IT and he was such a good boy, even off leash! His recall is phenomenal *most* of the times. He walks perfectly on leash on my left, he knows sit, come, uh uh (no), leave it, look at me, wait & he can find his "cookie" (bone), Hotwheel cars & "bubblegum" (favorite ball) on command. He has been doing hydrotherapy 4 times a week and he can run just as fast as our Golden Retriever, Willow. Because of his wonky legs he is not allowed to jump up or off of anything higher than 2 feet, so he has learned stairs and ramps. I am proud of this little 7 month old guy! I am really glad that we did not pursue surgery on his legs because everything we have been doing has been working! He's thriving!

Because it will be so hot, over 100°, for the next four days where we’re going… Cowboy is going to be a guest camp counselor at our sister RESCUE Rainbow Heart Rescue! This is him at 7 AM. Sticking his lunch meat, tongue up my nose, a.k.a. giving morning kisses because we’re gonna miss one another so badly!

More recently, I have had a lot of people ask me where my two RESCUE birds are and I thought I would make a little video clip to show you how they’re live life now that we’re back in Washington for almost a year! This winter, I had decided to create a library, a.k.a., my office, a.k.a. every zen space. Tamara and I worked so hard to get to this point and it’s coming together beautifully! It’s nowhere near done, but we are on the right track! It’s taking longer than I anticipated because we are being very patient finding the right items and typically trying to find everything secondhand to reduce cost and waste. Salád & Snowflake LOVE this room! They are never locked in a cage, but they do consider their cage, their homebase and kind of like a litter box for Birds. They don’t go to the bathroom on anything, furniture, books, shelving, you name it… They go back to their cage to go potty every single time and I’m so proud of them!  Anyhow, they are both very healthy and thriving!
