I’ve been following the poor whale here in Oregon since the beginning and I have so many emotions and thoughts. I’ve buckeled into the rollercoaster for the longhaul and I am doing my best to remain optimistic. This is a very long time for a live whale to be beached. She clearly was struggling from being wrapped up in the crabbing nets long before any human saw her once she tumbled onto the sand. Now she’s been exhausting quite literally every fiber of her body through pure instinct. She is completely burnt out and it’s obvious. Time is of the essence and so much of that time is now borrowed time.
I am so, so grateful for every human being out there, helping from the get-go, around the clock relentlessly. So grateful for those that are out there, regardless of the time of day and the weather to continue showing everybody how she is doing on a consistent basis. I do think that so much more should have been done at a much earlier state by the experts. The delay in the expertise help is not in her favor. I cherish the experts as well… But I along with most everybody is under the same consensus, not understanding the timeline and plan a, Plan B and plan C. I really really really am hoping that once she is back in deep enough water (if they can get to that stage) and able to swim that she has enough strength to get out there and replenish her body with the much needed nutrients to keep her going.
What are your thoughts if you’re following along??
