Final round! FIGHT! 🥊
The 5 day stretch of round three begins today. The first week of the cycle is always the hardest but I am excited to be at the final round of treatment. The first two rounds have gone excellent. I’ve kept an appetite for the majority of treatment, I have lost no weight, and on recovery days I feel exceptional. I can’t wait to share an official update on when I will be re-opening. I am still hoping to return in early Spring (late March or April). Thank you for all of your support and prayers. I eagerly and impatiently await catching up with all of my kitty friends very soon. 😸

Hello! My name is Madie Cook and I'm the owner of Bare Kitty Waxing. After over 3 years of offering esthetic services, I decided it was time to take the jump into entrepreneurship. I went into Esthetician school with the goal of offering safe and quality waxing services, to be someone's safe person. Being a Brazilian Specialist, I always tell my guests that we are quick best friends!

Friends and family are the center of my world, when I'm not at my studio I'm with my loved ones. I'm married to my sweet husband, Jared the Cat Groomer. Together we love snowboarding, camping, trying new restaurants, going on picnics and spending time with our 3 kitties (Walter, Beau and Minnie).

My favorite part of what I do is the relationships I make. I always joke that it feels like I go to work to hang out with my friends. Everyone's life is so different and complex, it is really neat that people trust me enough to give me a peak into what makes them the person they are!

Whether it's getting you all dolled up for a special event or your day-to-day life, I'm here to make it happen. With attention to detail and a passion for creativity, I strive to bring your beauty visions to life. I'm beyond excited to meet new people and continue building my friendships with those of you that have been seeing me for years!

As of yesterday I have received my final infusion for my first round of chemo. I feel GREAT! I haven’t lost any weight and I’ve had an appetite like no other. I am beyond thankful to be doing so well. Tell your cats I am winning! Round two starts on the 30th! Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎄
P.S. I told my family I wanted hats for Christmas for when I start losing hair and needless to say.. Expectations were exceeded lol

Madeline and I are stunned. To have such an abundance of love and support as I begin this fight is an indescribable feeling. Despite the fact that I know surgery was the easy part and the real challenge is yet to come. I feel motivated on a spiritual, emotional, and physical level to beat this. I am praying hard to share my progress with you all soon.

For those who have had their appointments cancelled; I am sure you have been wondering what elaborate scheme I cooked up to have the entire holiday season off this year. (How convenient)

In all seriousness; (This is going to get personal)
In early November I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. I underwent surgery to remove the traitor and have since been recovering at home awaiting further testing and information. Yesterday I met my oncologist and was informed that my cancer has spread to my lymph nodes and that my cancer is stage 2B.

Due to the news of metastasis my recovery and treatment timeline has been extended. I am currently waiting to start my first of three rounds cycles of chemotherapy which should hopefully treat me without any need for further surgeries.

I will likely be unable to re-open until the end of winter or early spring at the earliest. I am hopeful to return sooner but I don’t want to set unrealistic expectations.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I’d like to say why I am thankful today.

First, I am thankful for my wife Madeline. Although we only recently married, she has been my best friend and partner for almost 7 years. I am fighting the hardest for her.

I am thankful for my incredibly loving and supportive family and friends that are just as in this fight as I am.

I am thankful for all the support and understanding I received when I cancelled months of appointments.

I am thankful that despite the metastasis of my cancer I still have a very good prognosis. I have full faith that I will beat this and be back to seeing all of my cat friends very soon.

Finally (though I can keep going) I am thankful that in this time of reflection, I can confidently say I am so thankful for the career choice I have made and I cannot wait to see all of your cats as soon as I can return.

My two favorite things Cats and Coffee! This is the longest I have ever been off work and I was feeling a little homesick (I really was just missing the cats) How convenient that this is right next door to the hotel we are staying at! 🇫🇷 🐈 ❤️
