We hosted several family businesses from to showcase the vibrant community and the wonders we can all offer. thank you for your time and patience with our first sit down dinner, and thank you for nailing it. thank you for your chickens and your stewardship of their lives through your love and care. you made garlic rosemary sourdough to pretty to cut, but we still enjoyed every crumb during dinner. surprised us all with a Dilish Farm garlic ice cream that was of this world, but it took us swimming through our taste buds wanting one more bite. why can I never get enough tres leches from you! You two are a dream with pavlovas, turnovers, and tres leches giving us the perfect amount of sweetness to end the night. We are building our community, strengthening those around us, and sharing it along the way.
We are already thinking about the next dinner and love that will be shared with it. We look forward to having you with us at the market, on the farm, or in the wild off the farm. Thank you and thrive on Fam!
A CSA is kind of a magic farm thing. Every year our members get the change to set up a set it and forget it for food.
I always look for ways to have automated things into my adulting life. Every week, every month there are staple things our household needs.
Why not just get that out of the way. I buy laundry detergent once a year. I get products set to auto ship. casa box of veggies gives you a farm visit for a chance to get out to nature and all your veggies are grown where you can trust it to be the best.

Life is like a CSA share. It's fresh, full of love, imperfect, unexpected and surprising. Mostly if all; no two are the same.
This week our CSA share is full of greens and it really feels like spring.
Thank you to our members for your support. I absolutely feel nervous when months in advance I think about what will go into the share each week. Then magic happens and tiny seeds turn into works of art and nourishment. Week 7 of our CSA this is us.
We have this wonderful wild cherry tree on the corner of our property and my son climbed it and took this adorable little picture of a corner of one of our farm fields.
It's one of those moments where I smile a little bit. Hoping these are the memories he'll have. We do a lot of work in the fields and sometimes we don't get to spend as much time with our kids as we would like and the time that we get to spend with them often ends up. Being in these fields they help us. They learn stuff we work together on things here. I can't deny that it's not on my mind often. If they'll hate this life because they were forced to do the things that other kids don't have to do. Other kids can watch TV all day. Mine cannot. Other kids can hang out with friends and walk the neighborhood and ours cannot. There's just too much to do out here. The one my son presented me with this picture and he was so excited about the way that it looked and that he was finally able to climb that high in the cherry tree. I was smiling. Maybe just maybe they'll choose this someday.

In this week's CSA boxes, Baby bok choy takes center stage! With a mild, slightly sweet, and earthy flavor, their crisp stems and tender leaves are best enjoyed stir-fried, steamed, or in soups for a fresh, light taste. 🍲

On the farm my messy clothes and dirty hands are a normal and expected thing. My littles don't often get to smother me with their snuggles as we are usually up in our feet out in the fields looking for bugs or digging holds as I plant or w**d. I get so busy in the spring and summer. I wonder how my children will remember me from their childhood. I hope they remember my hard working hands holding them.
Farming and parenting are so one in the same. And every moment is precious. Even the moments when exhaustion is in charge and you are doing your best to give all your good to your craft. These hands are torn but strong dirty but full of love and I am grateful for the time with the people who help me to slow down and have these moments.
Thanks for all the support of our farm and family. Cheers to this season of life for us all.

We are about halfway done and it's about 2 weeks later than we would have liked but just like nature we have some flexibility.
Having an extra tool from some other farm friends was really helpful since one team member really wanted to help..
Doing the work on the farm is always interesting. The smell of the logs the texture of the mushroom spawn. the way the rhythm of grinding the drill holes in the logs, then packing the holes with mushroom spawn and sealing it with wax. It's different than our daily norm on the farm but as we roll into year 2 with mushrooms we are grateful for this project. We hope to have classes next year as we share tours of our mushroom growing space.

Seeds Rule The World! Seeds start from very little, but have such a large impact. We are always amazed how they grow, flower, fruit, and seed all over again; with a natural time clock or sensitivity to its surroundings pushing it to do what was intended. Seeds can come from two parents, or one, be pollinated by the wind, bees, or itself, and some seeds are best eaten in seed form. Perfect, magical, beautiful, fulfilling; plant a seed today, or sow a positive thought for today, just one thing, and perhaps you will get it to grow or come to fruition, buecauseI know a seed is just the start! Not sure where all the pink rain came from, but we will be talking veggies, wreaths, and the good ol earth we inhabit. The market goes from 9-3pm on 4/27 and 10-3pm on 4/28. We have been busy prepping for the season and continuing to put projects on our running list that never ends. Take a walk and enjoy your day!

This weekend there were cotton candy sunrises and veggies out to the market. It was a lovely weekend meeting with the community about a love of food, art and sharing stories of community. We are growing on the farm and growing deeper roots in our community. Thank you to all our supporters who are eating Dilish foods.
