I would like to introduce you to our new sunflower on the farm, Smokey Bear. I have been playing with genetics and seed saving sunflowers the last couple of seasons. Teddy Bear x Ring of a fire has made some fun results that we would like to share. I will grow these out next year on a different farm where we can try to strengthen traits we really love. Enjoy the sunflowers, it's hard not to smile with appreciation whenever I see a big bright sunflower. Off to my field of dreams, where we have all the magic we need to live and love fully!

The fall veggies tend to start with a lot of the end of summer veggies and then roll into good storage vegetables and nice cooking greens. We always try to have an allium in the box and a couple of roots if possible to go with all of the zucchini squashes, tomatoes and greens that are headed your way.
It is flexible, convenient, and extravagantly packaged by your personal shopper if the farm and growers Dillon + Trish Copy

Story time!!
Dillon and Trish=Dilish!! Dillon and I were out at a bar. (Before children) The bartender handed us our bill, the name on the tab was "dilish"
Dillon showed me the tab as he pays the bill and saw the name and he said "look at that." I interrupted and said "wow how lame, dilish..." He said oh I thought it would be a really cute Farm name. This is a memory that always comes back to me when someone says how'd you guys get your farm name? It reminds me I have the most romantic husband on the planet.

It's impossible to see the future but it is possible to look back and see your reflection. We have absolutely hit it out of the park. We dreamed of feeding our community And having a farm on this land. This second picture is a slightly different angle but it was the closest I could find. We built this farm from the soil up and our roots are strong we have so much more to do. If you're just tuning in welcome and if you have been here well you know we love you!! It's about to get wild!

The shiitake mushrooms are such a fun experience from inoculating, to watching and waiting, and then watching an abundance emerge from the dead log pushing through bark. These are bolts that we inoculated 3 years ago, on a mix of alder and cascara, with two varieties of shiitake being forced fruited for the third time. What a life I get to experience! It's even better when you pick them just as the moon is reaching its bright fullness. Thrive on and eat something from the earth today, you deserve it.

Golden yolks. Firm whites. Shells that crack clean.

Our hens are fed a thoughtfully crafted, fermented grain mix—no corn, no soy—just whole ingredients like wheat, barley, peas, flax, and mineral-rich supplements. Fermenting makes the nutrients more digestible, which keeps our birds thriving and their eggs exceptional. 🌾💛

Healthy hens living in wide Open spaces on lots of pasture and extra greens from the farm, lay better eggs. Simple as that. You’ll see the difference the moment you crack one open—and taste it with every bite.

This is my lazy no-dig/no-till potato planting method, which has changed a bit over the years. We have one bed, that I did not capture at all, with a layer of grass clippings, then compost, potato, and finished with compost on top. We utilize a leaf compost from a local facility, maybe 10 miles from us. Potatoes have a vertical growth habit setting tubers as they go, hence hilling and utilizing towers, giving us the opportunity to go above ground while adding plenty of organic material for the next crop as well.

One Day at a Time

A farm imperfect! A Plate full of hard work, Growing children, sheep, chickens, ducks, goats, dogs, and produce for our very local community. We were a farm, had a fire lost everything. We relocated and rebuild. We are back, bigger and better. We are stronger and with more of us. We look forward to the winter work of preparing for the spring and summer. Seeds and soil prep beds and planning. So much behind the scenes. We are A family so its not just a business we do this for our children. We want them to know what this life can be and how the community comes together. Needs that can be met locally from your neighbors. Join us as we pass the days one at a time.
