The dogs in this breed group are known for their high energy, feisty personality, and sometimes stubborn (but lovable) nature.

Fact: Greyhounds are built for speed and need opportunities to run and burn off energy. However, as long as they get their daily exercise, Greyhounds are typically calm dogs that enjoy lounging around on the couch living up to their nickname: the 40 mph couch potato.
At Wisdom Panel, we always say looks can be deceiving. While there may be some physical traits that are commonly associated with certain dog breeds or breed groups, the genes that contribute to that appearance can be passed down by many different dogs. For example, you may have a dog with a scruffy beard that you're convinced is a terrier mix, then discover in their DNA results that no terrier breeds are present. Instead, your pup may have inherited their coat structure from a great grandparent that was, say, a Portuguese Water Dog that also carries genes for that same coat type.
A dog's phenotype — or the physical expression of their genes — is complicated. That's what makes visual identification alone an often inaccurate way to determine a dog's breed mix.

FACT: Thanks to something called the "righting reflex" and a flexible spine, cats often do manage to turn their bodies during a fall so they land on their feet. But they don't have a 100% success rate. The height of the fall can be a factor. Short falls of 1-2 feet might not give a cat enough time to orient their body to land on their feet. And cats that are overweight or have arthritis may struggle to move fast enough to position their bodies for a safe landing.
