"Equine Capers” Lead to Creation of “M & M Halters”
These halters are designed by Mary McNall and are PATENT PENDING. Mules and donkeys with long ears and horses with very sensitive ears can create a challenge when it comes to putting on their halters. For the handler, safety can become an issue if your equine has tender ears, long ears or they just do not tolerate having their ears tou
ched. Pasture games while being haltered are played (like the “quick get-away” when the halter is only slipped over the nose) especially when time is of the essence! Abundant, thick forelocks, common in mini horses and ponies, can create an obstacle in easily pulling the halter over the forehead and ears. The “No Falter Donkey Halter” is designed to fit a donkey or mule properly and is easy to get on and off without forcing it over the long ears. The “Handy Horse Halter”, sized appropriately for a horse, allows haltering and removal without touching the ears at all. The throatlatch snap is attached to the crownpiece and reaches down to the side ring instead of up from the throatlatch to the crownpiece ring, so the crownpiece does not have to be unbuckled or forced over the forehead and ears. Simply slip the noseband over the muzzle and bring the crownpiece up and over the poll and snap in place. To remove, just unsnap and allow the halter to drop off the head or fasten around the neck, if bridling, for example. For added convenience, the adjustment buckles are on the off side, out of the way. There is a solid tie down ring under the jaw which slides easily along the noseband and is easy to snap a lead rope to. These halters are designed to be easy to use, to fit well and look good. They are made in the USA by an Amish Craftsman, out of high quality materials. Watch for “M & M Halters” coming soon to your local tack shops and feed stores.
