Puppies are due the last week of August. A few are spoken for already.

Natty - extremely talented and stylish dog. MH titled, currently training for field trials. 2 3rd place qualifying finishes, first one at 26 months old. All of Natty’s littermates are QAA/QA2.

Hacker - 37 derby points and 6 wins. Earned his FC title at 4.5 years old. Just went to the 7th series of the National AM

Our crew of young master dogs showed up and showed out at the MRTC master test this weekend. Huge thanks to our club, our judges, and the awesome help. Jordan Endre, Cody Brasier, Nathan Bedard, Bill Chapman, we couldn’t have done it without you. And of course my beautiful wife Maggie for being the hunt test secretary and Marshall.

Hacker - just went to the 7th series of the National AM.

Maggie, myself, and Lucas Bellanceau got to put on a mid-week master test yesterday. Thank you Peggy Sage Knowles for all of your help, and the Maine Retriever Trial Club for sponsoring this event. Thank you John Pyne for the use of your beautiful property, and HUGE thanks to all of my clients and friends that helped throw/shoot, your time volunteered is what makes these events possible and I hope you all know how truly appreciated you are.

We are looking for the right individual to join a growing business that specializes in retriever training. This will be part time (2-3 days/week), May - October

This person MUST love dogs. And ideally wants to learn our sport.

General duties:
-Throwing birds/bumpers
-Setup/breakdown training equipment
-Bonus if you can operate shotgun

Light kennel duties like cleaning, feeding, and airing dogs.

Pups expected on the ground in early February, ready to go home in early April.

FC Hacker - already qualified for the 2024 National Amateur.

Natty MH - 2/3 qualifying finishes with two 3rd's. Will continue training for field trials.

Competitive homes (hunt test/field trial) will be a priority in placing these pups. If you're unfamiliar with the retriever sports and want to know more, give us a call.

As days shorten and temps drop, our training season is winding down. What a year it was for the WWR team. Primarily a crew of very young dogs. To say it’s been a pleasure is an understatement. This group brought it every single day. As always, talent/skill varies, but effort was never lacking. Several new titles, several with their first hunt tests passes. Up and coming master hunter and HRCH dogs that is for sure. We can’t wait to see them back here in a few months.

We want to thank our clients for their trust in us. We could not do this without you. Your animals are part of our family and we could not be more grateful. Peter Fallon, Ronald Elmer Spencer Jr., Jacob Burke, Nathan Bedard, Tyler Stockwell, Susan Westlake… thank you so much for your commitment to our training group. You know I couldn’t do it without you.

Special thanks to my beautiful wife, Maggie. This woman is the engine that keeps this thing going. She throws birds, cleans kennels, tracks the finances, all while toting two kids under two around with her. Our hero for sure ❤️

This is why we do it…. Beans on her first hunt with her owner in Texas, and it’s a BAND.

Beans is a pup that we raised from 7 weeks old and sold as a started dog. She stayed in training and at 18 months old she got her senior title, and without a doubt will be a young master hunter next year. We even got to run a derby together last week, where she ran 3 strong series.

Natty took 3rd at the MRTC qualifying last weekend. 2 field trials and 2 third place finishes for this girl in her career. She just turned 3 and is knocking on the door of doing some great things. Thanks a million to the club and workers that put on a great event.

We had a fun weekend in Cabot, Vermont running the Lake Champlain Retriever Club hunt test. Thanks to the club for a well put together test on great grounds with great people.

We have a nice little female available. Client is only selling because he has multiple dogs in training. “Grace” is 16mon old, ready to run senior. We have had her in training for roughly 7 months. She is a smart dog that has tons of potential to go far in the hunt test game.

Beat the rain this morning to get in a little poison bird drill with the senior/master dogs.

Senior dogs ran blinds first, then the mark. Repeated with the mark as a poison bird.

Big dogs no off the the mark, run both blinds, then picked up their mark.

Miss Bailey owned by Ronald Elmer Spencer Jr. and Janice Madden Spencer joined us this afternoon. Bailey was with us for some obedience recently and will be in our basic gun dog program this spring/summer. She has a great attitude and desire to retrieve. I have no doubt she will be a very reliable gun dog by next hunting season, and we may have her ready for some JR hunt tests this summer.
