It’s that time of year again, for the Early Renewal (or Joining) Drive by December 31st!

When you renew or join the Akhal-Teke Association of America (ATAA) before December 31st, for a 2023 membership, we’re offering a free ATAA Friends Membership ($25 value) that you can give as a gift. 🎀

Here are some highlights of 2022:

💠An Akhal-Teke stallion was captured as one of Breyer Model Horses’ international new models and was showcased at the BreyerFest event with almost 30,000 attendees.
💠A breed specific Akhal-Teke class for USDF Dressage Sporthorse In-Hand Prospect was hosted at Dressage at Devon.
💠The Akhal-Teke Association of America collaborated in fundraising efforts that helped successfully evacuate and give aid to Akhal-Tekes in Ukraine.
💠Research finished for the Gaited Locomotive Research Program (GLRP) at Mississippi State University with the Livestock Conservancy that concluded the unique qualities of the Akhal-Teke’s efficient trotting gait referred to as the “Teke Glide”.
💠An Akhal-Teke stallion qualified for the USDF All Breed Awards.
💠An educational breed booth was hosted at Equine Affaire in Massachusetts with thousands of attendees.
💠Ads featured in Horse Illustrated ‘Best of Breeds’ magazine.
💠Members gathered at our Annual ATAA Conference and General Membership Meeting with special guest speakers on equine reproduction and learning to experience the magic of the Akhal-Teke horse and its community.
💠And so much more!

All these projects are made possible through generous donations, grants, and your membership dollars–and we have some exciting opportunities planned for 2023.

This is a fascinating new article about the true origin of Appaloosa horses. We always just think of them as 'originating' with the Nez Perce Indians, don't we. Well, we've been wrong. Check out this article.

Fleet of Angels was contacted by the guardian of the remaining origin horses today. He is really struggling to make ends meet and maintain the very few remaining horses with this rare bloodline. This foal was born from Reimer A. Pureblooded mare Damara PRI x licensed stallion Tamga-Kan.

The foal has been active and in character since birth. The spot on his head was inherited from his mother.

Nice to announce something good in the mist of Hurricane Ian !!
Feb 19th thru 26feb 2023 is Teke camp !! By then most of damage and clean up will be done and looking good for the Teke Camp that's the goal !!
