This is the kind of stuff that upsets me, sorry for the long post 💔

We have had this client since 2022, the owners do not do their due diligence with brushing and combing and the dog is continually matted at each visit. Our job at the pet salon is to wash and cut the hair, it is the responsibility of the owner to maintain the coat with regular brushing and COMBING...the comb goes all the way to the skin where the brush does not reach. I sound like a broken record saying only comb the hair you want to keep!
When we try to groom a dog with matts it hurts them and the dog responds with biting, this particular dog also hates his feet touched and bites. The owners are aware of the dogs behavior, we have told them when they pick him up "he had a spicy attitude today" or "we had to use a muzzle", we are very transparent and all our grooms are recorded on video and owners can see us online.

All that being said, this dog came in matted again on Wednesday. They owners wanted a round full head. The dogs head was short, shaved in some places, because it can not be combed out....when he is biting the staff and trying to bite scissor you DO NOT GET A VANITY TRIM, you get what we can safely offer because of your negligence to maintain the coat with combing and brushing!

The wife always sends the dog with the husband with picky instructions that are different with almost every vist...this time face shorter..this time face fuller...back and forth...she calls after the dog is picked up by the husband, she tells me
" this is the worst he has ever looked, I can't believe this is how he looks after a very expensive haircut! Was is someone new who groomed him?! " I told her, about the Mats and the behavior, she was unsatisfied. I reviewed the video and spoke with the groomers who worked with him then called her back.
I told her the same groomers worked with him for an hour and a half and should have been $115 but only charged for 1 hour $75 and this discount is always applied because we like the dog, he is sweet unless we are touching his feet or if the owner brings him in matted. I only mentioned it because she was trying to make me feel bad about our price.

They then went online and publicly shamed us and said we are lying

I. Am. Over. It.
With the entitlement, the demanding perfection on dogs who don't deserve to be tortured for hours with a brush because the owner let it get that way and now they want it perfect and they complain and try to hurt our business! Yes we shaved your dog Wednesday. Yes it doesn't look perfect. We did what was safest and best for your dog while he was thrashing, biting and fighting.
I am tired of the ungrateful people who make our job harder than it need to be.
We are blessed with many kind, understanding clients who do care for their pets well being and brush and comb regularly....but we've had a couple humdingers this week and we are cleaning house!

Please be kind to your groomers, we really love your dogs! We get that they won't always let you comb and brush, so if they get matted please let us do the kind thing and shave them short without angry phone calls and bad Google reviews 💔💔💔
