• It’s a great day to celebrate National Black Cat day! 🖤
Black cats have always had a very special place in my heart. They truly are amazing, unique, and mysterious in their own ways. Ever since I was little I’ve just felt a special connection towards them-they are so lovely & beautiful inside and out. Now, when looking into reputation of black cats throughout history, they have a very colorful past! With time, black cats’ reputation wavered between omens of good fortune or bringers of bad luck, sometimes even having both reputations in the same culture at the same time. The Celts believed in a fairy called Cat Sidh (my personal fav) who was able to change into a large black cat with a white spot on his chest and stole people’s souls before they were collected by the gods. This led to the ritual of keeping a late wake in order to scare away Cat Sidh from the recently deceased. Just in time for the spooky season 🦇🖤 Anyway, not all black cats are evil! They are very sweet babies with amazing sincere personalities, give them a chance! Hope everyone’s having a lovely day as always.
