Enhance your equine breeding program with our new service: Transvaginal Oocyte Aspiration (TVA) offered in conjunction with Humphrey Giacopuzzi and Associates Equine Hospital.
TVA is a minimally invasive procedure that allows for the retrieval of oocytes directly from the ovarian follicles of mares. Under sedation, an ultrasound-guided needle is introduced transvaginally to aspirate follicular contents, facilitating the collection of oocytes for subsequent in vitro procedures. 
This technique is particularly beneficial for mares and stallions with reproductive challenges and permits the recovery of oocytes post-mortem, offering an opportunity to preserve valuable genetics.
Following oocyte retrieval, the cells can undergo Intracytoplasmic S***m Injection (ICSI), where a single s***m is injected directly into the oocyte to facilitate fertilization. The resulting embryos can then be cultured in vitro before being transferred to recipient mares or cryopreserved for future use.
