The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has recently reported the first case of equine West Nile in Kern County.

Please stay well-informed about the clinical signs of West Nile virus in horses and follow the prevention guidelines provided by CDFA to protect your horses' health:
-Keep your horse’s WNV vaccination current (within the six months)
- Eliminate any potential breeding sites for mosquitoes by removing standing water sources around the stable.
- Utilize approved insect repellents to reduce the risk of mosquito bites on horses.
- Limit outdoor activities during peak mosquito hours to minimize exposure.
- Maintain clean horse stalls to prevent mosquito breeding.

For more information on West Nile virus in horses and to access comprehensive guidelines, visit the official CDFA website: https://www.cdfa.ca.gov/ahfss/Animal_Health/WNV_Info.html

Big News! Shoreline Equine is now offering ICSI!!

We are so excited to announce that we will be offering ICSI (Intracytoplasmic S***m Injection) in collaboration with Dr. Richard Giacopuzzi of Humphrey, Giacopuzzi and Associates Equine Hospital, Dr. Lisa Metcalf of Honahlee PC and Dr. Etta Bradecamp of Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital.

This procedure involves harvesting oocytes from your mare, shipping them to the lab to be matured, injected with s***m and if all goes we get an embryo! That embryo is shipped back and transferred into a recipient mare.

Our next session is tentatively March 10, 11, 2023

Of course , there is a lot more to this procedure, so please give us a call and we can answer all your questions. 805-669-6864.
