RANT in process ‼️ This post will likely draw some haters, but so be it...

It DRIVES ME ABSOLUTELY INSANE how non-chalant the veterinary community is about va$$inating sick animals ‼️ I know that my colleagues are some of the most compassionate and caring people on the planet and definitely mean no harm and I love all of my colleagues, but it isn't an excuse to ignore what we have known and been taught for decades.

"First do no harm" ‼️

All label inserts for these types of injections say: "ONLY for HEALTHY animals". Yet, they are used against manufacturer recommendation and also against what we are taught in vet school.

In other words, injecting an animal that isn't 100% health can be construed as malpractice and doing potential harm!

This is why YOU have to know what is NOT a healthy animal. So often I hear "my pet is healthy, but it just has a little bit of allergies". That is NOT a healthy animal!

Here is the list of unhealthy animals:

❗️ one with allergies, autoimmune disease, cancer, other immunologic issues

❗️ one whose symptoms are controlled with drugs such as seizures, allergies, autoimmune disease, cancer, etc.

❗️ one who had a tumor removed and is now cancer free

❗️ one who is in remission or cured from any of the above, because said injections could throw them right back into the deep end!

Other times or criteria to avoid said injections:

❗️ an animal who is in heat
❗️ one who is undergoing a procedure (anesthesia, dental, surgery)
❗️ one who is about to be stressed (move, boarding, going on vaccation, any change)

You get the gist...

Your pet only has YOU❗️ This means that YOU have to be their advocate no matter what.

This starts with educating yourself so that you can be empowered to speak out and request what YOU feel is right for YOUR pet. I put together an indepth course that took me 3 weeks of at least 8 hours a day to put together. Please take advantage of it. https://odette-suter-dvm.teachable.com/p/vaccines

If your vet won't write a medical exemption➡️find another vet who will. www.ahvma.org has a list of holistic vets.

If your state doesn't allow them ➡️ fight the law. Find others who are fighting to change the law in your state. https://www.protectthepets.com/

Rant over... thanks for reading and sharing 😍!

PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOGS SAFE!!!

Dogs suffering from heatstroke can have elevated breathing rates, dry or sticky gums, abnormal gum color, bruising in the gums, may appear lethargic or disoriented, and can have seizures.
